Hi Micropolis

I have two computers running MP 1.3.0, one is in the lounge running StreamedMP with all updates, the other pc is in the office which I use to try out skins and plugins it is running StreamedMP as well but it has not had the recent updates. Worldweather on the office pc is version 1.1.1 and has no problems.

The pc in the lounge has version 1.2.2 and its the one with the issues.

I have checked the settings on both profiles in the configuration page and they are exactly the same.

Thankyou for investigating this issue mate :)

Regards

Glen

    Hallo people,

I'm still busy with skinfiles for Titan. One view that is still not working is historicalview. I created a free account to Weatherunderground. and I created an api key including info for historical information. I entered the key in the configuration, but the historical view is still not working. (in defaultwide aswell)

Can someone explain what me what to do more?

    Hi @2.0, @Remoteglen, @pmwolf,
today in the morning I found some minutes to create the astronomy test tool. You can use this to verify the calculation results to your home location.
The tool, which can be found here, is a simple command line application with special arguments:
    • "TestAstronomy <city> <timezonenumber> <longitude> <latitude>" to calculate the values and
    • "TestAstronomy timezonenumbers" to display a list of available timezones and their system specific numbers
Without any argument a example will be displayed. Parallel for screen output all results will be written to a log file and can be upload later to this thread.
If you want to support here, please
    • download the tool
    • start the tool on a command line (e.g. "TestAstronomy Redmond 97 -121,14972 44,25417") (Important: spaces in city names are not allowed, also use your language specific number separator)
    • create log files for your home location and other locations around the world (maybe from each continent)
    • verify the result with internet sources (e.g. www.timeanddate.com)
    • upload the results and write down useful comments about errors/miscalculations.
I'll try to analyze the results after I'm back at home next weekend, hopefully I can find the problem and/or logical breaks in the calculation routines with your help easier.

@powermarcel10: Do you have checked the option "Enable historical condition display" (see chapter 4.1)?

    Cheers, Micropolis

    Hi powermarcel10,
Yes I did.. And when I'm signed in to the website, I'm able to see historical information of my location but in Mediaportal I can't!
Do you have entered a valid country name in your home location profile? In case of yes, please post MediaPortal log files and your WorldWeather profile here. As said before, I can check this when I'm back at home next weekend.

    Cheers, Micropolis

Ok I just ran your tool and I am getting some bad data.

For Helena, MT in timezone 94 which is Mountain Time (US and Canada) according to the timezonenumbers list
I get a sunrise today at 9:49 pm and a sunset at 1:01 pm

From www.timeanddate.com I get this a sun rise of 5:49 am and a sun set of 9:01 pm

I also ran the ones for Melbourne, Munich, New York and Tokyo.

    Results for command line tool
    • New York: sunrise: 9:35 pm sunset: 12:10 pm
    • Tokyo sunrise: 8:34 pm sunset: 10:42 am
    • Melbourne: sunrise: 11:20 pm, sunset 9:11 am
    • Munich: sunrise: 9:30 pm sunset: 12:51 pm
    Results from www.timeanddate.com
    • New York: sunrise: 5:35 am pm sunset: 8:10 pm
    • Tokyo sunrise: 4:33 am sunset: 6:43 pm
    • Melbourne: sunrise: 7:17 am, sunset 5:16 pm
    • Munich: sunrise: 5:30 am sunset: 8:51 pm

As far as I can tell everything is off by 16 hours

I have included both the images of the output and the log files. I also included the output of running timezonenumbers command

Let me know if you need any more data

    Thanks Micropolis,

I have played a lot with the country name and location settings, but without luck.. Also when I select other places I have no luck.

    Logs attached! :)

EDIT: Also tried the steps in the manual (12.1.4.) And I'm able to see this in the webbrowser: (http://api.wunderground.com/api/<key>/conditions/q/Netherlands/Groningen.xml)

    Hi,
... Ok I just ran your tool and I am getting some bad data ...
Thank you for these log files. I've made some small modifications to the tool today in the morning. It would be very helpful, if you can start your latest test run again. Hint: Please do not replace the original Micropolis.MPCore.dll from WorldWeather 1.2.2, this could break the plugin itself.

... I have played a lot with the country name and location settings, but without luck.. Also when I select other places I have no luck...
In the case I would say, the historical REST API does not offer any valid data for Groningen. You can try this url to see, which data must be exists to display historical information.

    Hello @pmwolf,
thank you for your very good support. Hopefully now I know the logical bug and can publish a corrected version of WorldWeather next weekend. Until then you have to wait unfortunately, because I do not have access to my HTPC to build and test the new installation packages.

@2.0, @Remoteglen: Please confirm, if it's also now working correctly on your home location. Thank you in advance.

    Cheers, Micropolis
