Re: AW: WorldWeather plugin v0.2.5 for MediaPortal v1.2.0 or higher

Hello Holzi,
Google knows the image names "mostly_sunny.gif" and "sunny.gif". The current mapping table translate the condition 31 and 36 to condition label "sunny", 33 and 34 to "mostly sunny".

Cheers, Micropolis

Re: WorldWeather plugin v0.2.5 for MediaPortal v1.2.0 or higher

1. Is it possible to add the option to "show wind speed in knots"?

The current wind string comes from the weather provider directly. It is possible, but has a high error potential (extract value from string using the cultural settings, calculate, build new string, add new language properties...). Not yet, sorry. Maybe another planned provider has this option later.

...

Fair enough, hopefully another provider has this info then (or maybe you could do a plugin for the Windguru site in your "spare time" :D )

"]#WorldWeather.ForecastDay<digit>Wind

Google doesn't support forecast wind information, so no chance at the moment. You can test this using the URL http://www.google.com/ig/api?weather=Brisbane&hl=en.

...

Bummer, I thought because I can see the wind forecast in the Details tab in my browser it could be drawn through :( Never mind, as you say hopefully someone else will provide this data.

Thanks for the informative reply.

So 32 is not used at all?
Then there's maybe nothing you can do about it if Clear and Sunny do use the same image name in Google Weather.
Hopefully Yahoo offers something better here.. =)
    Thank you!

    Hi Micropolis,
I've tryed to uncheck "forbid localized requests" but there are no changes.
In Mediaportal.xml, entry language of section gui is this -> <entry name="language">Italian</entry>
(I have also tryed to clean cache)

Thank you very much for your kind support

In German the text for the wind information is very long. e.g. "S mit Windgeschwindigkeiten von 13 km/h". Can you shorten this a little: "aus Süden mit 13 km/h". I thinks this looks better. :D

    Hello fischy667,
as I said a lot of times before: the current wind string comes from the weather provider directly and gives me localized results. For all supported languages it is very complex to replace strings for this localization, this string for another localization and so on. Sorry, this could be a never ending story. Give me the time to implement Yahoo, maybe there are more comfortable settings and xml results.

    Cheers, Micropolis

Now I found the problem. I always looked at google.com for the API and there get "S mit 10 km/h" but when I'm doing it with google.de then I get "S mit Windgeschwindigkeiten von 10 km/h". So again my mistake. Not my night. :sorry:

This plugin works fine for me, except that satellite images are thumbnails and hence illegible. I liked the way they used to work in the default weather plugin. Hope a future version will address this issue. BTW, under latitude/longitude, can I use degree symbol, or do I specify in decimal degrees, or radians or what? Could be clearer. Also, where do I get city codes from? Are they necessary?
