XBMC Xephyr skin portage (2 Viewers)

Thanks TSMOTW! Great skin, hopefully we can keep it alive!

Right, no promises, but I think I might try and work on this skin a bit.

Problem is, its a 720p skin, and i'm using it on a 1080p screen, so I have a feeling that if I align things for me, they may be slightly off for other people.

I will be modding the theme for my own use, but will try and keep in mind that other people will like it too!
Heres my wishlist/todo list (again, no promises, I might get bored by tomorrow):

So far all I've done is set the background animations to change ever 6 seconds, as opposed to 60. (Personal choice). I'd like to somehow get them to change randomly and not in a specific order - any ideas?

1. I like a fairly simple MP interface, so I am thinking of removing the buttons in the op right (shutdown, fullscreen etc).

2. I'm going to set the images for Music and Music Videos to be different, and also the same for TV Series and TV.

3. I don't like the semi-circle at the bottom, i think i may look into making it more like the original Xephyr skin where the things shown there are on the bottom left, in the already shaded section.

4. The selection colours seem inverted (selected items are grey while un selected are white!), so need to look at this.

5. Need to skin TV and TV Guide

... other stuff I cant think of now..

I don't like too the semi-circle. And especially on the main screen

The image stuff is a quick fix, changing 1 line of code in 2 xml's for each screen should be enough

I was thinking of changing the circle thingy my self. I might install linux on a computer to check out how the xephyr works in xbmc. Regarding icons in the basic home; I use those icons, and many users do, so a fix like that could never be included in the official release.

As for the random function; its broken, but somebody did fix the code(he posted earlier in this thread) - only problem is getting it in SVN.

I will continue work on this skin as long as I use it, and when the next version of Monochrome is out I will either try to get the changes Psycho does to my videos to this skin - or start using monochrome.. Most likely Ill stick with this one tho, put a lot of work into it - and it looks great

Also if you make some cool stuff I can always take a look at it and tidy them up for people using 720p screens.

Good thing I'm not alone on this =)

Yeah I'm back on Monochrome again. I want to use this theme though. I get bored easily, so will no doubt swap between the two.

About XBMC for linux, is that a special distro, or some kind of installer? And where do you find it?

It can be just me but I can't seem to find out howto get the backpacks working in media-portal.
I've readed this whole topic already but it doesn't tell me which files I need to edit, do I need to add those background lines in each seperate media-portal page?

in their specific folder
For movies you'd put movie backpack images here:
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\Xephyr\Media\Animations\movies
