Hi Guys,

I seem to have lost the large progressbar that showed during movieplay when skipping forward. (that was in the earlier version) Has that been removed in favor of the black numbers? If so, is there any way to re-enable it?

My Music current playlist can not be edited with this skin?
Do others have similar problems?
Also selectionbar has still blue two style.

Gapless plaback indicator is also missing in My music.

Edit: The playlist not be editable is not a skin issue but a general MP issue.

I think that it could be a good idea if harley creates a TODO list with suggestions fro this thread, that way we could know what to expect in next release (i think that this is currently in a beta stage, it looks nice, but it still needs support for most plugins, and a lot of usability functions...) If MP could have a good skinning system, this could be a little work, but in the current way of things... there is A LOT OF WORK to have this skin working as expected (for me, the only skin having the usability level of Blue2 skin, is Replicant...), i'm sorry about that, because Harley needs to work many things that could be solved in a easy way just improving the mp code (basic home screen carousel, for example... and also, the filmstrip view... where harley did an amazing trick to make a fake coverflow system, but the result will never be like real coverflow using code from MP core).

Hi all,

i´m working with big steps here on the next release 1.1.
I have make me a todo list from all your comments here, btw many thanks for that.

Stand of the progress is now:

- Overworked Basichomescreen and submenue, Basichomescreen starts now with TV as default .
- complete overworked musicplaylist screen
- complete overworked videoplaylist screen
- complete overworked Tv Guide with more rows.
- adding new osd stuff for progress and skip stuff for TV and video
- for the high resolution thumbs for videofilmstrip, Bavarian will have a look on the code for it.
- for the problem with outsync comming of the frame by scrolling fast right in filmstripview, Bavarian will also have a look on the code (..many thanks in advance for that )

..now i work on the overwork of the Homemenue. It will have then also nofocuslabels because of the slow displaying focuslabel.

So the next release will coming fast, i hope

But keep in mind , that xface is only a skin. We can not change everything we want in mp with this.

patricon, yes its the first version of the skin, so not all is done perfekt in this stage. But i think it is running good for a 1.0 version and with the new version it will be much better.

XFace screen for MyFilms

i tested today and first of all really stunning skin, thanks so much for it.


I was wondering is there no myfilms file in the skinpackage ??? it tryed
to use the myfilms plugin but i get the error message mesfilms.dll missing ...

I have rectify some screens for the latest MyFilms-plugin to fit the XFace skin.

first of all I'd like to thank Harley for the outstanding work he has done. Simply amazing.

But now there also is a suggestion I have to make. The close buttons (those with an "X" on it) in menues, the shutdown manue for instance, don't fit on my opinion. They somehow look out of place. Now what I suggest is something more Vista like. That would perfectly fit the glass borders around the windows. When selected, the button could glow (maybe blue) like the oringinal Vista ones.

What du you think about it?

general suggestion:

As there is only one setting for vertical scrolling speed it would be a good idea (not only in this skin) to keep all occurences of scrolling descriptions nearly similar in width. Otherwise it is not possible to optimally adjust the interface to one's reading capabilities. Also there is a design rule to not make columns of text to wide as it will decrease readability. The reason is that for moving from the end of a line to the begining of the next it takes longer the wider the column is and the chance to loose focus on the line increases esp. if the text is scrolling itself.

I know that there is the temptation to break that rule because it looks neat in the one or other occurance, but as Louis Sullivan well said:

FFF -> Form follows function.

I mean for the pictures appeares this one women instead a picture icon...

I had another wish

Why is the TV screen splitted in one menu screen and one fullscreen page?

why not making one fullscreen tv page where the menus for recordings etc. is sliding in, that is what i need for a receiver replacement

i have made a small picture what i mean.

i choose TV, tv fullscreen is opened, now i can press a button and the menu appears for EPG,Recording and the other stuff.

is this possible?

my wife asks me everytime why is there 2 screens...
