i´m not use Tv Series, so i can not say anything to solve the problem.

Hi all,

Just recently built an HTPC and discovered MediaPortal to be the best to run on it (ASUS P5E-VM HDMI with Q6600, running Vista x64 connected to my Onkyo 875+Samsung F71 1080p). Now I'm playing the "skins" game and think Xface is the best of all the ones I've tried.

However I have two minor issues with it:

1. There's no on-screen player controls whilst watching video and as I'd like to make use of my new Logitech MX-Air mouse, having this would be very conventient. Is there a way to add it?

2. The three common icons/buttons at the bottom right (not sure what to call them), that are a TV, Camera and Headphones. How are they configured? As I don't have "My TV" enabled, the the TV one does very little. Is it possible to change what function it performs i.e. in my case go to "My Videos"?

yes there are no playercontrols in fullscreen at the moment, because most use is a remote. The deault skin and all others have also no playercontrols.


to 2.

the icons are shortcuts to start the musicscreen, picturescreen and TV screen direktly. You can use them with the mouse or with the keyboard arrows by going right from last item from topbar.

had the same issue with a new tvseries button, for me they worked after changing the names to:
button_mp-tv series.png
buttonNF_mp-tv series.png
hover_mp-tv series.png

hope this helps!

edit: i´ve attached mine, can you do the same with yours, maybe i´ll like them better(put mine together in a hurry just to have something other than the generic pic)

How easy or difficult would it be to add them? I'm not very clued up on how the skins work with MP, but I've coded stuff in the past so I'm sure I could pick it up. Any advice would be helpful.

That I understand, but how do I change what the shortcut takes me to? I don't have the MyTV plugin enabled as I don't use it, so I'd rather it took me to "My Videos".

Look for it in basichome.xml and change the hyperlink to the one for my videos. The easiest way to find the correct place in basichome (IMO) is to look in the media folder for the image first, then search basichome.xml for that filename.

The ID of myvideos is <id>6</id>.
In basichome.xml you have to find the correct place and change the <hyperlink>number</hyperlink> to <hyperlink>6</hyperlink> for that icon to make it take you to my videos.
