pitty, same problem here, running ATIs X200 with catalyst 7.6 (7.4 didnt worked too)

Why is that skin on frontpage ?

Hi all,

I have start work on that skin for 1 Year, the reason why it has take so long todo this skin is quite simple.
As i had the idea to the skin, i have missed many stuff in mp todo this skin in the way i it works now.
So for doing this skin in real, like the fisrt ideas of the concept was, it have need many new code and skinenginestuff in MP.
The idea was to have a flyarroundmenue, reflektions, many animationstuff, 3D looking views , actionmenues for using flybuttons and so on and so on.

So i have beginn to visuall my ideas in mockups and asking the developers of the team for doing such codes and implementations.

Over the last year many Developers has helped , with making great code for mp, for using it, to do the ideas in real.
( not only for this skin, also for all skinwork )

..so :
- Frodo has do all that great new skinenginestuff,
- Bavarian has helped me alot todo many things real, with many, many special code
- rtv has helped in many parts with specialcode for things with labels and focus and nofocus stuff
- hwahrmann has doing the code for visiblestuff in views
- piba has bring back broken things
- iloop, mofux and smnnekho has made tests and give feedback
..and so on and so on..

So , because i´m self also be a teammember of MP team and all that great help from the teammembers,
this skin is a real MP Team skin

Because without all that codestuff this skin has never worked.

And for all that , i have to say Big Thanks to the team.

I have to say, it belongs on the front page. It is a good "advertisement" for Media Portal. People who find MP for the first time will be amazed by those screen shots. Good work Harley!

Hi mamachan,

i dont realy know what you mean, how can i say in the skin wich thumbsize it should use.
To get the high resolution pictures for the thumbs, i only know that you must switch in the mediaportal config the thumbresolution to high.

Can you explain me please more where in the xml´s, i can say , the skin should use the "nameimageL.jpg".

When a video is in the database, automatically 2 thumbs are generated in the C:\Programmi\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\Thumbs\Videos folder, according to mediaportal config thumbresolution:
- the first thumb is called "nomefile.jpg" and it is in low resolution (96 or 128 or 192);
- the second thumbs is called "nomefileL.jpg in higher resolution (300 or 512 or 768)

SpenSafeRevolve, BlueTwoWide and other skins use "nomefile.jpg" (low resolution) for thumbs in list mode, small icon mode, big icon mode, and "nomefileL.jpg" (higher resolution) in filmstrip mode.
Xface skin instead always use "nomefile.jpg" (low resolution) for all thumbs, in filstrip mode too.

Thanks Harley for clearing that up.
Not to annoy you, but have you given the idea that maby an MPI installer could be made for this skin. Would make it much easier for MP beginners to install and for everyone to update to newer versions when they cum out.
I think this skin looks so good that there should be put up a poll that would say the following(or when Harley thinks the skin is ready for this): Do you think that Xface skin should be included in future versions/releases on MP alongside BlueTwo?
Just thinking out load here

Ok so I did a clean installed and installed the Sept 29 SVN version. Put Xface in Skins directory - MediaPortal configurator lists only the default two Blue skins.

Hi.

I did some small mods on the skin which I will attach here.
By reading this thread I find that others have similar ideas so maybe it is of interrest for one or the other.
If not simply ignore it.

Changes:

- Bigger font in filmstip view for videos and music
- Reduced program guide row height so that more rows are displayed
- Program guide font color changed for readability
- Program guide's channel logo size adjusted to not overlapping the frame
- Program guide now displays also current title because otherwise you can only guess on short series
- Program guide time spin aligned horizontally
- Program guide realigned spins, channel group and current time
- MyTV Home reduced film description width for readability
- Modified TVguide dialog and TVguide to have more similar appearance
- Adjusted fontsizes of miniEPG for readability

Added on 30.09.2007:

- MyTVProgram reduced width and height of program description for readability and not to scoll into white background and controls
- MyTVCropSettings changed to meet skin styling (had old styling of BlueTwo wide)

Added on 02.10.2007:

- Realigned controls and textitems on common.dialog and dialogYesNo
- Removed header_hover from myMusicPlaylist cause its overlapping with NowPlaying and to be appear identical to myVideoPlaylist

Harley + Team:

This skin for itslef makes MP a killer application for HTPC IMHO.

and did it maybe unzip into skins/xface/xface ?

Reinstalled MPC, this time just the latest RC2 package without the latest SVN. Then it works. If I install the latest SVN it "looses" the theme.

Quite peculiar.

Did the procedure again and the skin seems to stay if I install it before I install the SVN (in most cases, I might have screwed up the second time I tried the SVN).
I can consistently not install the skin after a clean RC2 + immediate SVN install however.
