DarkWader- a top notch 6600 is almost twice as fast as the 7300GS. But the low end one is half as fast. Guess it just depends which one he had.

Either way a 5500 should NOT be able to run it smoothly!

I just don't see why a mediacentre pc that needs to be able to show movies ,play music ,show tv programmes , show photos and the rest should even NEED so much 3d graphic processing power!!!!!

If mediaportal is becoming bloatware with 3d graphic bell's and whistle's and no option for the ones that doesn't want to spend $$$$$$$$$$$ on a screeencard it going to be a sad day.

As soon as my 2.2Ghz celeron and my fx5200 is not enough anymore ,mediaportal has let me down and has become bloatware.

But I suppose this depends from user to user.

Just install MP with the basic skin, what are you crying about ?

Well, those are really skin questions....
Some skins are heavy on your PC (X-face, SpinSafe Revolve...) others are not (Blue Two, Monochrome...)
There really is no reason for MP not to run on a slow PC as long as you configure it the right way...

B.t.w: may of us do want the 3d graphics bell's (and like it alot!)

Indeed - over in the meedios forum they now have a working WPF animation. Just a slideshow..
Simple as it is, it consumed 10% cpu power, that is much.
What will happen to mediaportal when they merge to WPF (if they do) nobody knows..
Hopefully that will be MP2, so that low end users can stay with MP(1).

Quick Question..

I have MP and the lastest SVN and when I am listening to music I cant use the skip forward button to the skip the song nor can I go up top to the topbar and use the skip there. Any Idea's as to how I can listen to music and skip the song easily with my REMOTE. I have a FireFly. Thanks.

Probably not Xface question but as this great skin is the only one i would consider using so I'll post it here.

Love the Filmstip view for music but when i select an album and see the list of songs/tracks I would like to see them automatically in List view so I can see the full title as Filmstip view is not very good at showing titles.

Is there any way of automatically switching from Filmstrip to List view when entering an album?

Nope..

I would like this myself, but for now the easiest way to do this is selecting list view as default in config, so that all folders containing music are displayed as lists. Then you have to the rest of the job yourself, changing the view in all folders you would like to have in filmstrip view.

The reason to to it this way is simply because its faster to change the genre/artist folders to filmstrip then to enter ALL your folders and change them to list.
