Alfrescoid, that should be all you need to do. though I haven't noticed any errors in the XML (though I use SafeXMLTV to combine several XMLTV sources which might hide an error in one xml file). Did you try downloading the file again, extracting it and dropping it in the XMLTV folder again?

Yep, tried it more than once...

I had EPG working with TV Server using scoulter's GetOzTvGuide VB script and the original XMLTV plugin (though it was messy setting up the translations manually)

Thanks

I've just tried the OzTivoPerth.zip file on its own (I'm in Perth too) and it worked fine for me. When I loaded the latest SVN, though, I did check the mapping and saved the configuration.

Curiously, with the latest SVN, I still see two plugins in the TV Server configuration program (Laban: is this correct?). Although both seem to look the same, the one listed as XmlTv doesn't work, but the one I was using before (XmlTv2) works fine.

You might find some more clues in the TV Server log files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal TV Server\log

Update: OK, there is definitely something strange going on here. When I click on the manual import button in the XMLTV2 configuration it imports the XMLTV file without trouble. If I then wait for some time to let MP import it itself, I then get an error saying that there are no programs. I think this may have occurred after I tried swapping back to the original XMLTV config, then back to the one labelled XMLTV2.

Further Update: I performed a complete uninstall, manually deleted the xmltv2import.dll from the TVServer plug-in directory and then a full re-install of Media Portal, TVE3 and SVN's. The XMLTV plug-in now seems to be working again. Perhaps having the two dll's was causing some issues (the upgrade process didn't clean up the old dll)?

as I said previously...laban's xmltv plugin has replaced the old one ... so laban's version is not "needed" anymore.
U get it automatically when downloading the latest SVN.

And yes, you have to remove the xmltv plugin v2 urself.

OK...tried a complete TVE3 uninstall, deleted installation folder. Deleted the TV SQL database. Re-install server and re-config TV Server, rescan, etc...

I am able to map the channels in the second screen, but the first screen gives me an error "tvguide.xml:Invalid XML file:confused:tartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name:startIndex"

So, I'm stuck at the moment...

    ......

Is my procedure so far correct?; 1. download file. 2. Unzip it to MP XMLTV folder and rename it to tvguide.XML 3. Run the grabber.

    .....

When you say "unzip it to the MP XMLTV folder" do you mean the MP client folder or the directory pointed to by the Frodo/Laban TVE3 plugin?

    Try this :

    Download xmltv-0.5.50-win32.zip from sourceforge
(Even if you don't use xmltv.exe to grab you still need the dtd file that comes with this package)
Unzip it to a folder on the machine which is running TVE3 eg c:\xmltv
Unzip your file into c:\xmltv and rename it to tvguide.xml
Go to the xmltv plugin config in the tvserver console and set the tvguide.xml folder to be c:\xmltv
Make sure "Import new tvguide.xml" is ticked and "Import files in new tvguide.lst" is not ticked
Set other options as desired (and channel mappings obviously)
Click the "Import" button to force the tvserver to load your file.

For future files you download you shouldn't need to force import using this button since the tvserver reloads the tvguide.xml file every time the modified date changes (assuming the plugin "Enabled" box is ticked - which it isn't by default)
