Re: AW: Re: Yatse 2 : Media Centers Remote optimized for Touch Screen

i installed MPCC on the HTPC and YATSE on my laptop.

in yatse i filled in the IP, MAC and port of the HTPC.
but when i click on verify i get the message "bad remote parameters".
am i doing something wrong here?

login and password, is that the one for windows on my htpc?
i tried with and without the login but thats not working either.

i guess i could use some help here.

You need to set your firewall on the htpc to pass through the remote ports from the iPIMPRemoteControl. Just for testing you can deactivate it and see if that's the problem.

For login and password the defaults are admin / admin.

i checked the list in the firewall settings but i don't see anything that looks like IPIMPRemoteControl.
i do see mediaportal. but changing this didn't change anything.
i also completely switched of the firewall to no avail.
did i forget something else to install?

I'm getting bad remote parameters too, I have yatse installed on my HTPC the MP is installed on, it appears on my 2nd display (touchscreen in the HTPC case)
I've even added the ipimp port in the firewall.

I've even added the ipimp port in the firewall.

Try to access it via localhost (127.0.0.1) and leave port empty, this worked for me.

Well it seems i really need to do the wiki :)

The port needed for yatse is the http port so the number you select +1. So you need to configure Yatse with the showed number +1 (ie if 55667 is shown the port is 55668) and add this port too in the firewall.

If you let MPCC with default port number, you can leave the port field empty in Yatse.

Sorry for the lack of documentation but no internet at home really block me :(

When internet is back (i've contacted a cable operator to change quickly if no news today from my current provider) i'll do all needed to have a proper release with docs, but seeing many people asking for testing encourage me to do the quick Zip Update :)

same here, after i verify the IP, mediaportal crashes.

attached logs....i'll also look into it.

    Code:
2010-10-13 12:49:19.707783 [ERROR][(26)]: Exception :The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
    2010-10-13 12:49:19.707783 [ERROR][(26)]:   site      :Void AddAll()
    2010-10-13 12:49:19.707783 [ERROR][(26)]: source :System

Also for now, when i enable the MPCC plugin in the configuration, my whole mediaportal
    crashes after loading the plugin.....uhmmm

Well the problem in your log shows that the port you try to use is already used :

arted TCP listening on port 49152
    2010-10-13 12:49:19.556783 [Info.][(25)]: MediaPortal: Unhandled exception occured

    at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoBind(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress)

I'll forward to cheezey so he add sanity checks on this :)

This will only work if yatse is running on your htpc. otherwise you will need the ip from your htpc.

but i switched of the firewall on my htpc to get this working.

now i don't now how to add the port into the firewall.
i don't see a way how to do this.

now i will do some heavy testing on this feature :)
