As always, half the reason for a new project is for the learning curve 
And I'd always rather do something with an opensource project like MP, especially when it appears to be a far superior product to MCE.
I've never really looked at the AV or media side of things before, but i expect i'll have a much better understanding by the end of this (i do already!).
Can i be cheeky & ask your thoughts on one last card (my normal supplier doesn't list the Hauppage1300, although i've not checked on availability yet)

i only ask again on this, as you seemed very happy with it's sibling, and this one seems to support a few natty features.
