Unfortunately that is caused by BH. Free version only displays 8 bytes of data. So as you assumed fan speed setting can be in the end of every line message and logs must be taken with full version of BH or some other sniffer which supports full amount of data.

I will check that fan speed setting when exiting MP.

You're right, in all my logs I have exactly the same strings :

    27 OUT a1 00 a7 01 02 03 04 20 ....... 66.1.0(6)
    27 OUT a2 00 a7 05 06 07 08 20 ....... 67.1.0(6)

It's strange, but my MHC and fans works well.

It is interesting, what written in '.......' :) If some text data, it will be clear -> its output. Is something strange - may be fan command.
Currently I see 4 redefinable symbols output (01 02 03 04), than space (20), than... may be text.

Driver version I think not important - it is only FTDI driver for interface transform chip (COM->USB), and it is not related to VFD or Zalman company.

01... 08 are custom characters iirc, defined by AD command at the very beginning.

Yes, custom and definable by user.
BTW about this characters, I have some issues with them.

As I see, sometimes they defined incorrectly.
For example, in previous versions when press 'Test display' button, sometomes MP picture was broken. Also sometimes in equalizer screen equalizer lines not correct, with empty lines in columns (after music stop-start it become correct).

I sure that sourcecode for symbols define is correct, but may be it is due to some conditions in VFD? Because if I try to define it again with same procedure, it become always correct. I am in frustration, cannot understand why it happens...

I installed USBTrace but it's not better.

I managed to capture an AA AA command when sniffiing driver instead of USB port (?)
Is my model number correct ?

But no AC command or anything that could command fans. When I have no display on the VFD (MHC -> user mode -> removing everything), there is nohting more sniffed on the usb port . Nothing !!! But the fan speed still changing !

    C5 - ruuning MHC.zip
    Running USBTrace
    Running MHC

I'm going to install Vista32 and have some tests again.

Different OS will not do any difference, so don't bother imo.

OptimusPrime and Cybermage tried to find out this also and never come up with solution. Control must be on USB somehow but I have no idea how it is made. Strange thing is that all other commands are there but no fan speed control?!? Does that have manual control for fans at all or is it AFC only?

Manual control and AFC both work in MHC.

I'll try with vista anyway, because I have no other idea:(

    EDIT :
    Same problem with vista32
Same problem with an older MHC version (1.7.x.x)

I don't know where fan commands are.
I have nothing to test yet but I'm still available if you have some ideas.

    Sorry.:(

There is no other way to commuticate with VFD instead of USB->COM driver. So (I not believe in wonders) MHC have to say something about fan speed to VFD, using emulated COM.

I agree with you. What' the reason why I'm really puzzled. I really tried everything to find a fan command, but nothing appears. I don't understand.
