The plugin uses MP internal channel mappings first if found, so I am wondering if your mapping are messed up.

Can you from MP configuration.exe:
(Make sure you have exited the MP application as it may cache some data and interfere)
1. Clear all your guide data (Remove all programs from TV database button)
2. Delete ALL your channels
3. Re auto-scan your channels
4. Remove the (automatically added) analog channel group
5. Verify your TV channels were added correctly (2,3,4,etc)
6. OK to save.

Now start MP and see if the plugin re-downloads you data correctly.

Strange, it maps everything perfect for me..

Can you delete or rename your tv database file
and then start with the auto-scan again?

Maybe MP is saving some mapping information even after deleteing the channels.
The database file should be named something like "TVDatabaseV21.db3"
in Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database folder.

tried all that again after deleting the database and the same issue occurs. do u think this is a plugin issue or a issue with zap2it?

I'm having some issues too. I need to revisit them, but I have all my channels named exactly as zap2it names them and the plugin is not importing everything correctly.

It also appears to crash MP 1x per day.

u know what i did a quick search on the forums for 'zap2it' and i have found out that many ppl have had this same mapping/plugin problem. but none of them ever get solutions. most of them dont even get replies. sounds like ppl r just ignoring the ppl with problems with this plugin.

Well, it's not that people are ignoring you. The main reason for the lack of support is that the developer of the plugin has taken a leave of absence. What we really need now is someone to pick up where bradsjm left off, at least until he comes back.

so i guess no one can help me with this mapping/plugin issue?

    Can you start over and:
Copy your tv database file AFTER you auto-scan but BEFORE you update with the zap2it plugin
Backup yor channel list (backup button on TV channels tab in configuration.exe)
Now after the zap2it update copy you database again.

Zip these 3 files and either email or post them?
Also what is you zap2it lineup (zip code and provider)

I know it sounds like a pain but its the only way I can think of to try
to replicate the error you are getting.

i have been having all sorts of problems as well with zap2it. When i first installed it worked great for 2 weeks. THen my cable provider moved some channels around, and it took awhile for the zap2it lineup to be updated. Once it was updated i had something like 7 channels that didnt have the proper guide information. I deleted all my channels in the mpconfiguration.exe. I re-scanned, re-installed the plugin, renamed the channels to exactly the same names as zap2it, and all of a sudden MP stopped finding some channels altogether, i now don't have channels 5 - 7- 16- and 36 at all, it just randomly assigns some other channel to these. I have tried manually entering the frequencies, changing the chanell from cable to antennae. Finally i formatted my hardrive re-installed windows and started from scratch, in the end i ended up exactly where i left off with MP and Zap2it. I don't have the channels mentioned above and the guide information for the bottom 14 channels is completely wrong or missing altogether.

I hope that this has more to do with the TV Engine than anything else and that the tv 3.0 engine will be better.

I have tried the forums, and besides a few suggestions about channel scanning i have had little support as well. It is too bad, the only thing really missing from my HTPC is a reliable tv guide, mostly, to schedule recordings with some sense of assuredness.

    I feel your pain ZCUBED
