Ok I have posted the changes at Sourceforge. Now you have to wait till one of the developers find some time to validate this changes and transfer them into the SVN.
I've installed SVN versions of TVServer and Mediaportal released today, but all channels broadcasting 4:3 are completely horizontally stretched thus the aspect ratio is not respected. If I try to replace the core.dll linked in this thread then Mediaportal starts but doesn't respond anymore. Here's an extract from my log file while trying to change aspect ratio. My TV is set to a 1280x768 resolution. I'd be very pleased to know any suggestions to resolve this problem.
Yes. Daniel is right. This is a complete different thing. It looks like you are using a codec that does not take care of aspect ratios at all. Some of the FFDShow filters or and MPV2 have such "nasty" behaviour. Try to use a different one (maybe purevideo or powerdvd).
Many thanks indeed for your replies. As video codec I use the NVIDIA which came with Theatertek 2.4, but I tried all the codecs listed, i.e. MPV, ffdshow, and, as far as I can remember, the Powerlink which came with Powercinema, both in overlay and VMR9 modes, but unsuccessfully. For your information I set ffdshow as audio codec, since with the NVIDIA audio I cannot get any sound through SPDIF, but I don't think this is the cause. I replaced the core.dll just to to give it a try and see if that could work, although I read that the current SVN version are already updated.
I wonder if there are trial versions for the codecs you mentioned.
Anyway, I think I'll do the following: first I'll try to disable and/or remove ffdshow, if that could be the reason of this behaviour; if that doesn't work I'll try to restore a previous disk image of a fresh installation of XP SP2 with only the necessary drivers an then reinstall Mediaportal and the TV server and then I'll test it.
Since my configuration is quite stable and I'd prefer not to handle with disk images, do you have other suggestions before I proceed this way?
