Hello it's me again. Yesterday I tried to disable ffdshow, i.e. I added mediaportal.exe to the list of softwares that don't use ffdshow and then it worked. But after a reboot I got video horizontally stretched again.
This evening I'll try removing ffdshow, just to see if that works.

By reading through my yesterday post, looks like I tested Mediaportal in overlay: what I actually meant was that I tried the options 'overlay' in the NVIDIA configuration panel, rather than 'VMR7' or 'VMR9', but I'm afraid these settings are overridden or ignored by Mediaportal itself, aren't they?
I'm now wondering if installing a different version of ffdshow could help me through this issue, and if it could, then which one?

Many thanks again.
Andrea

My zoom just stretches the image horizontally as well, cutting off the left and right sides. I want it to do the opposite - I want it to cut off the top and bottom of the faux widescreen shows that are broadcast in 4x3. Using svn from 5/7/07.

Here I am back again. I tried some other tests.
I installed only Mediaportal without the TV server and tuned chanels both on DVB-T and DVB-S cards. All went well and the aspect ratio is respected, here's what the log says:
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: crop T, B : 0, 0
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: crop L, R : 0, 0
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: video WxH : 768x576
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: video AR : 768:576
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: screen WxH : 576x346
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: AR type : Normal
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: PixelRatio : 1
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: src : (0,0)-(768,576)
2007-05-20 13.00.29.046875 [Info.][9]: PlaneScene: dst : (594,146)-(1055,492)
If I install the TV Server and the plugin, I get stretched images, and the log says 1024x576 instead of 768x576. I tried with all the codecs installed but no way, it seems the problem is with the TV server, or the TV plugin.

Thanks a lot
Andrea

Well, it seems that a video card driver update has fixed this issue and now I can watch TV with the correct aspect ratio.
I wish I tried this weeks ago...
