Thinking of getting a mini PC to use as a client. Its built in wireless-n would be good for streaming.

Back on topic, yep interested to hear your findings Tompa, as there has been some conflicting info about the ION systems capabilities, last discussion I had was high cpu, even with mpeg2 using dxva (30%+), which to me sounds high if the gpu is meant to do the work.

Ok, so any ideas how to Benchmark this box? I'm not having any HD TV yet, so maybe there are some "HD test material" to run??

I'm very curious about the performance - I have heard the CPU stuff too.
Apparently nVidia are going to release a driver in June/July that addresses some of these problems and adds Flash 10.1 acceleration too...

Try some of the HD trailers from the mytrailers plugin @ 720+ and see what happens (I expect some stuttering...)

First impression - Noisy!!
Fan was going 100% by default, so had to check Bios for any settings. And yes there is manually and temperature controlled modes, so that was fixed.
Did not succeed to install windows from USB, had to go for my external DVD. However did not put many minutes trying to solve this...

After installing win7, drivers and mp (and fixing fan speed) I had to check TV quality and CPU usage
Impression is very good so far! CPU load average 10% (SD TV), mp interface and picture quality is very good (have to test more to give u my final impression).
Starting windows in approx 20sec and shuts down in approx. 10sec.

....and let me now if u want me to test something special!

Interesting to see SD is only 10%, pretty much what I would have reckoned maximum for this running MP.

Think the big test is 1080, if you cannot access any Blu-Ray file with such, will look for link with h.264 rather than wmv format for you to check out tomorrow.
