Strange that the preview window used to work not too long ago especially that little to no development is being carried out in that area atm.
It's been a long time but I think the reason I changed was that MP grabs the Freesat data and was a little patchy but EPG collector is capable of a full...
@CyberSimian,
Missed the OP's region so my suggestion to use EPG Collector is pretty much redundant as I have no idea of US transmittion standards.
I used the MP internal grabber for many years, TBH can't recall why I stopped using it, Does it provide a full 7 day guide?.
As for the preview...
I'd suggest trying EPG Collector, I've always had a complete guide when using that. For the last few versions of MP I've just had a white window when using channel preview audio works ok though so if I get that I know the channel in live TV will be OK, I don't really take much notice as it...
My HTPC is pretty much silent (other than air movement), I wanted to keep it that way so opted for a no fan option (GT1030) but then that increases the size of the heatsink, please don't tell me there is a fanless option that would occupy only 1 slot because that would ruin my day :sick: as this...
My vote would be for a Dvbsky S952 card, had mine for a good few years and never had any problems whatsoever, solid when waking from sleep for scheduled recordings also (which was a huge headache with the previous bunch of cards I owned). I'd love to fit another but the usual retarded design...
Where did you get the impression that I was implying broad troubles? just navigational issues on the PVR side of things which you also found confusing and irritating enough to bring up twice in the same thread, I mentioned in my post 'seems to work great in other areas though' so my 'general...
IMHO if you are using MP mainly for watching/recording TV then I would stick with V1, MP2 has horrible (apparently unfixable) navigational issues...Seems to work great in all other areas though.
@joecrow, sorry for the late reply, but I haven't been well enough to do anything over the last week or so. Thought I'd clear this one up, I swapped back over to the Win 10 drive around 4 days ago and the problem appears to be gone (left it a few days in case it surfaced again), no idea why as...
Okay I'll swap back over to the Win10 drive tomorrow and post the setup, I'll also try your suggestion about leaving MP running on suspend, I know it's not a fix but if it works I'll be happy with that.
@joecrow thought I'd better bring this back up from one of my earlier posts in case you missed it:-
Noticed today that when the problem occurs if I go to the Home screen the preview window is showing the frozen video and the playback timer is running in a loop....2:38 counting up to 2:41 then...
Using one of the old official RC6 MCE remotes I always close MP with the top left hand button and then the system goes into standby after 5mins, to restart I use the top right hand button to bring the system out of sleep and then hit the green button to start MP.
Another strange thing....
Stopping TV and MP GUI before it happens and then restart MP GUI and TV = problem won't happen, however restarting TV service before it happens does nothing.
