[solved] Searching PCIe DVB-S2 TV card - experiences/recommendations?

Afaik thats normal behaviour, many receivers have the option to enable voltage in standby to prevent freezing during the winter months.

No video in channel preview window

Strange that the preview window used to work not too long ago especially that little to no development is being carried out in that area atm. It's been a long time but I think the reason I changed was that MP grabs the Freesat data and was a little patchy but EPG collector is capable of a full...

No video in channel preview window

@CyberSimian, Missed the OP's region so my suggestion to use EPG Collector is pretty much redundant as I have no idea of US transmittion standards. I used the MP internal grabber for many years, TBH can't recall why I stopped using it, Does it provide a full 7 day guide?. As for the preview...

No video in channel preview window

I'd suggest trying EPG Collector, I've always had a complete guide when using that. For the last few versions of MP I've just had a white window when using channel preview audio works ok though so if I get that I know the channel in live TV will be OK, I don't really take much notice as it...

    Recording problems

Strangely everything has behaved for the last 2 days but if it happens again I'll try what you've suggested, it's not good when you can't record reliably and my confidence in that side of things is at an all time low atm, just realised something though, this occurred at the same time as another...

    Recording problems

Sure is a bit of a weird one, thanks for your input anyway.

    Recording problems

Hi CyberSimian and thanks for the reply, (1) It's intentional (not enough LNB outputs available to connect the card) however I'll disable it until I've got time to fit my octo. (2) No editing done to the log it's an attachment straight from the MP folder. (3) Only a single file in the...

    Recording problems

Since installing MP1.25 a lot of scheduled recordings only record the last 15mins, on Friday night/Saturday morning I recorded an episode of 'Most Haunted' the usual notification popped up at the correct time (00:59) and the red recording indicator was present, attempted to watch the programme...

Suggestions for reliable PCIe DVB-S2 tuner

My HTPC is pretty much silent (other than air movement), I wanted to keep it that way so opted for a no fan option (GT1030) but then that increases the size of the heatsink, please don't tell me there is a fanless option that would occupy only 1 slot because that would ruin my day  as this...

Suggestions for reliable PCIe DVB-S2 tuner

My vote would be for a Dvbsky S952 card, had mine for a good few years and never had any problems whatsoever, solid when waking from sleep for scheduled recordings also (which was a huge headache with the previous bunch of cards I owned). I'd love to fit another but the usual retarded design...

    MP2 GUI Issues

Where did you get the impression that I was implying broad troubles? just navigational issues on the PVR side of things which you also found confusing and irritating enough to bring up twice in the same thread, I mentioned in my post 'seems to work great in other areas though' so my 'general...

    MP2 GUI Issues

Don't know if it's been fixed since I last tried MP2, but it's an issue you raised yourself a while ago Here

    MP2 GUI Issues

IMHO if you are using MP mainly for watching/recording TV then I would stick with V1, MP2 has horrible (apparently unfixable) navigational issues...Seems to work great in all other areas though.

[solved] Live TV...video and audio freeze

I'll keep that in mind thanks, wouldn't normally be a problem for me as I only hide the OS volume but it may be useful for others.

[solved] Live TV...video and audio freeze

@joecrow, sorry for the late reply, but I haven't been well enough to do anything over the last week or so. Thought I'd clear this one up, I swapped back over to the Win 10 drive around 4 days ago and the problem appears to be gone (left it a few days in case it surfaced again), no idea why as...
