Is the CI USB? I would try changing the settings for the CI for "Allow the Computer to turn this device off to save power". Maybe the PC isn't shutting down the CI and it hangs? Or maybe the Computer is shutting down the CI and it hangs.

Same goes for styriaman. If your tv card is USB try and experiment with these settings.

Remember too, that even if the settings are correct for the device, the USB hub has it's own set of settings for this too.

If you don't have USB cards then ignore my post ;-)

I will ignore your post since my card is PCI. It feels like the issue is related to the restart cycle of MP. It would be interesting with an option to simply restart MP completly when MP resumes from suspend/hibrinate.

I actually tried a new idea this night. I scheduled a windows task to start MP just before a recording while the PC was in suspend. That failed on a .NET error even before the application launched. It worked when I tried a manual run.

    Hi Marcusb,

although the card supports CI, I haven't installed it (it's an additional board). Also the Hauppauge Nova is a PCI card.

Additional: I tested the standby/wakeup with ProgDVB and it has problems too, to reaccess to DVB-S card. But I guess this SW is not designed to deal with wakeup/standby in the opposite to MP

Maybe only a addition initialisation has to be done, because exiting and restarting the application will makr TV work again.

    Regards

    Joe

I havn't tested with any other software.

If you are right and the problem is in the driver (ie the driver loosing contact with either the tv-card or the tuner) the best workaround would be a setting in Powerscheduler that when enable completly restarts MP when a wakeup has been detected.

This would imply that when MP is first loaded a new singular instance of the driver is loaded, and MP keeps reference to that, and when a shutdown and start is preformed the old driver is unloaded and a new instance is loaded and thus making everything work...

In my case I have had a working resume from hibernation to record, but that stopped working when I completly reinstalled the computer and started to run with MP 0.2.

    Question:
    Is the problem like this:

    1.start HTPC
    2.MP starts
    3.go to MyTV
    4.works
    5.restart the PC or hibernate/standby
    6.sometimes after restart/resume from standby/hibernate MyTV is black|mute
    7. if you switch the channel myTV is working again

    My problem is like this:

    1. Start HTPC
    2. MP starts
    3. go to MyTV
    4. works (tunes to any channel)
    5. Suspend HTPC (with MCE remote power button)
    6. Wake HTPC (with MCE remote power button)
    7. Go to MyTV
    8. MyTV is black and mute (when tuned to a scrambled channel)
    9. MyTV works when tuned to a free-to-air channel

I exit MP and can reproduce the cycle above.

suspending MediaPortal via Remote button or Power Button on PC-Case can lead to issues. this means if its not MediaPortal that triggers the standby/hibernate event a problem after waking up may occur.

we noticed that issue last week.

I just tested with the new 0.2.0.3 (thnx for the new installer!) and the same problem remains.

I have the same problem regardless if I let MP do the Suspend or if I press the MCE-remote.

    I just tried it twice:

1st time without thimeshift enabled, and that worked!

2nd time with timeshift enabled, and that did not work!?!
