just stumbled upon this skin, for i am setting up a new eee client.

A general question for you as a skinner:
Is it possible to make the topbar always visible in fullscreen tv?
I am asking this, because I will use a touch screen on this client (eee Top)

well try to config it -

in the MePo Client-config there are some options.
AND i maybe it should be possible to set the timeout
(for the roll-back of the topbar) to infinity
( zumindest wenigstens in den XML files sollte es per conf nicht gehen).

that would keep the topbar always on top

Nope, not in fullscreen tv !

i always disable the topbar - if i have time i will take a look at that ... maybe i 'll find a solution.

also the other things - moving pictures, tv-series etc.

Hi,

Mediaportal hangs almost every time when downloading data from imdb. This happens with dark essentials and some other skins but not blue 3. Can you confirm this?

hmmm never had this problem till now.
i'll check this in a minute and report it here.
(I just have to build some new film folders)

did u "check" the option "download actors"?
this cause a lot of time to be done -
and sometimes it takes realy lot of time and and seems like "hanging"

just tried it - and had no problems here - (also WITH "download actors")
but found a size-bug with the download-status bar - so THX

could anybody confirm that download-hang-up problem ?

Hi,

I have "download actors" disabled. It hangs when downloading cover art and stays like this forever. One xface skin user had exactly the same problems and if I remember correctly he started using moving pictures plugin to solve this issue - I don't think this is a right solution Maybe it's media portal or configuration issue, I'll investigate it further. Thanks.

One more thing - the cover art and everything else always gets downloaded, It's always there when I restart mediaportal. It looks like just the UI hangs. I can still hear "clicks" when using the remote, just the pictures is frozen.

well the movie-database (within all that informations about actors - story etc)
is created in the moment its downloaded i think.

so these informations won't get lost couse the hangup.

hmm strange - which MePe version do u have in use still RC4 or MP1.0 ?

here in my office i did the tests @ RC4 ...
did not had the time and muse to install MP1.0

Ok, I'm using 1.0 final, so this could be the cause. But some other skins which are said to be fully 1.0 compatible also cause this problem. Strange. Maybe there is some strange graphics card incompatibility, altough everything else works fine.

soooo ... i just install the MP 1.0 here in my office and did the IMDB download again ...


all worked pretty well ... so if not anybody else got this problem
is seems to be a kind of "your-own-machine-Bug" ...

i am sorry that i cannot reproduce this problem here on my machines ...
