I'm having problems starting MePo 1.2.2 after upgrading from 1.2.1. I get a black screen after the splash screen, after it appears the plugins have finished loading. The same thing happens in debug mode. I've attached a log summary, with what I think are the pertinent errors below. Do I need to do a fresh install?

Thanks!

Re: MediaPortal 1.2.2 RELEASED!

UI update slowed to a crawl on my machine. EPG always starts empty (will fill when changing groups). Will try a downgrade to 1.2.1 because DVR must be up through Xmas.

If it is telling you that the WindowPlugins file is incompatible, something has gone fairly badly wrong.

I assume that the reason you have a black screen is because you are using a skin that doesn't have the warning dialog.

What version is the MP application in your MP folder?

Edit: you do seem to be using the DefaultWide skin, but your log shows

    Code:
    2011-12-23 12:48:50.097000 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Using alternate configuration file: C:\Users\Viewer\AppData\Local\Temp\MPTemp\MediaPortalTemp.xml
    2011-12-23 12:48:50.128200 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: MediaPortal v1.2.1.0 is starting up on Windows 7 ( Service Pack 1 ) [6.1.7601.65536]

So it seems that MP has not been updated. Without the installer log it is difficult to tell what has gone wrong. I would try running the installer to update again.

For anyone who might be concerned about these reports of problems, please remember that the users who don't have a problem will not bother, so you will always get a distorted view here. I have used several builds of installers over the last few months, and had no problems at all.

Indeed my Mediaportal and Configuration .exe's weren't updated for some reason, while the .dll's seemed to be ok. I extracted them from the installer and replaced. Everything seems to be fine now. Thanks, Mark!

I am having the exact same problem. How does one extract the the EXEs from the installer?

Do you happen to have the installation logs? If there really is a bug in the installer, we need to know what is going wrong so we can fix it.
