If it is any help, as a test, I have just completed a fresh install of MP 1.36 x 64 on a Win 11 PC, following a full uninstall of both MP and Maria DB and deletion of all Team MediaPortal and Maria DB folders and a restart! Worked perfectly and after scanning for channels via my dual TBS 6281SE tuner it played live TV.
The screenshot below shows the"One Click" install in progress which completed without error. NOTE MySQL was NOT an option just MariaDB.
@henrysinn it does seem very odd that you and other uses are experiencing this problem, for clarification at this point is the installer offering you MySQL or MariaDB?

I have a USB TV tuner somewhere, so I will see if I can find that and connect it to my loft aerial and check TV reception.
Just for the record, I was able to find my old USB tuner to test MP 1.36 on my laptop, but unfortunately Windows 10 does not recognise the tuner :( , and I have not been able to find any Windows 10 drivers for it on the internet :( (the tuner is a Twinhan 704J). However, @joecrow has confirmed that a successful first-time installation of MP 1.36 results in a working TV Server. (y)

clean installed 1.36 with mariadb installed ok but it failed at database test.... but if you put in a blank password during the db test/setup
(a single space as emtpy does not work)
It will work locally, but my client computers failed to start TV viewing...but they passed the connection test.

so I clean install 1.33 witth mysql and upgraded to 1.36 and everything works

I was able to find my old USB tuner to test MP 1.36 on my laptop, but unfortunately Windows 10 does not recognise the tuner :( , and I have not been able to find any Windows 10 drivers for it
I eventually came across the TwinHan driver CD that was included with the original product. The CD contains numerous drivers for the different TwinHan tuner models, but the drivers are for Win 2K (32-bit only) and Win XP (32-bit and 64-bit).

The drivers install directly on Vista, and the drivers can be installed on Win 7 and Win 10 by using those operating systems "compatibility mode" during installation. And yes, they all work with MP (y) :). (I tested 32-bit Vista and Win 7, and 64-bit Win 7 and Win 10.)

So I can confirm @joecrow 's result reported earlier that a first-time install of MP 1.36 on Windows 10/11 can be successful and give a fully-working single-seat TV Server installation. Nevertheless, I realise that this success is no consolation to those who are having problems installing MP 1.36 on their systems .

To add.... same issues with 1.36
Clean Win10 x64 ('Enterprise') fresh build PC.
Installed Hauppauge DVB-S card (88x drivers)
    Installed MP 1.36 (x64)
Database login issue is as shown (see image), I did not get an option about which database to use during installation

Had to uninstall and go over to use 1.36 x86 version because of the failed Hauppauge remote detection.
Did not clean out at a folder level, just ran 'full uninstallation' option
Still got database error except when using a single space as the database password as per 'Bitey' above
(Following passwords did not work: MediaPortal, Mediaportal, mediaportal)

As I am single seat (TV Server & Client same machine) may just go with this. Happy to try a couple of other options to help try things out in the short term as I have not got huge customisations.

Probably unrelated but as this is an 'installations issues' thread there was also a warning about a 'deprecated installer' (pkgmgr.exe, MS bug # 195329) when installing Media Player 11 from the link given.
Yet to see if there is are problems due to that (workbench & PC upstairs, satellite dish feed downstairs) but I can play videos

    Hi,

I didn't have SQL problems but just wanted to agree that on my Win7 system, a clean install of 1.36 TV server x86 does not work since it won't start the TV server configuration. Installing 1.33 first and upgrading to1.36 fixed the problem.
