@framug Tell me why you need 2 versions (x86/x64) of Mediaportal on one HTPC at once?
Problem is not 1 or 2 versions.
OFC, in ONE HTPC, both are not useful.
What I disagree with is "It's 2023 year".
MP is a Media Portal software.
As Kodi, it should'nt need latest NVIDIA RTX4090 GFX card, nor AMD 7900 XTX.
Same for motherboard, no need to have latest Intel Z690 nor AMD X670 chipset.

Why not imagine that some users want to recycle their old 32 bits processor as MP client, for example ?
For me, the power of MP is in it's TV Server.
OFC, you can't run it with a 286 Intel proc with 64 Mb of ram.
But, no need to go "extreme".
Yes, for client, with what we can see in music parts, depending on skins (animations/colored fonts...), a vodoo XFX card is not enougth.
Therefore, I think we should take care of "old systems".
For example, with VLC plugin, we (I) search a long time to find a good compromise, depending on power of PC and, that is not as easy....

That's what I wrote about in general. That it is not necessary to put in one package 2 versions, separately x86, separately x64.
Well, more or less normal computer, easily supports Windows 10/11 x64, well, the one that is very old, and supports only x86 I do not think that will be able to display normally with modern requirements for codecs, etc. And the current version 1.31 is quite stable.
But, no need to go "extreme".
Our TV Server is x86 so far, and my old Intel i3-3225 and Core2DUO work fine under x64 Windows 10/11.
Therefore, I think you should take care of "old systems".$
Anything older than Core2Duo is easier to replace. Anything newer has excellent x64 support.

    I don't see the point, why x86 when you have x64? It's 2023 year
It would also be a pity if Mediaportal 1, which has already lost many interesting external plugins in the past, would lose more features by only switching to an x64 version. As long as there are still external useful plugins like mvCentral, Clickfinder... or even plugins that are just fun to use, like the GamesPack from PureVision, I would not like to do without an x86 version.

Work without problem on x64, Plugins without source code we will sooner or later lose, half have already lost in the transition to https after a full transition will lose more.
If there is source code, we can always update them.

    @ajs, @Pablik ,
in this context, I would be interested to know if you could generally also use e.g. the source code of Kodi addons for the development of Mediaportal plugins?

In theory, yes, in practice a lot of "squatting", MP2 seems to have tried, but I do not know what came out. :)

MP2 never took source code from Kodi. Nor is any GUI taken from Kodi, one of several skins has a vertical main menu with fast access to contents, that’s all about similarity. The contents are different as everything else, there is not even one menu structure or menu entry as in Kodi. The other skins follow completely different paths (e.g. WMC look and feel). I say that just to fix all the previous posts based on incorrect information without any reference.
So far MP2 offers x86 and x64 with 3 different TV providers, there are 2 client exe for this. From next version 2.5 we kick out TV3 and offer only TVE3.5 and TVMosaic due to the transition to .NET6 and missing compatibility of TVE3. There will be only AnyCPU, so 1 client exe.
But we are also not sure if we can keep x86 support forever. I also think the end of x86 has come anyway …
