I originally had a Hauppage PVR-250 analogue card setup and working fine in Mediaportal. Last week i recieved my new Hauppage Nova-t 500 (possibly a new batch). Its installed with latest drivers.

Mediaportal won't detect the Hauppage Nova-t 500 even though its listed as supported in the wiki. The Hauppage Nova-t 500 works through hauppage's own TV program but not in media portal.
Media portal works fine and even picks up the hauppage remote.

I wonder if this is a new batch of Nova-T cards. I took this out of device manager

Are you using a beta driver, as the latest download from here uses the 34b, which my driver shows as 4.3.25080.0 dated 21-3-2007

There may be a new version with a different Device ID, if you need to edit the TVcapturecard definitions xml with the new name, use xmlmarker (free) or try TVE3

I did install using wintvcd43b.exe, the same ones as you were refereing to. Installed exactly the way Hauppage states, ie hwclear, then drivers, then software.
Card works fine with Wintv200, so I think the card needs a new definition entry.

I have attached my graphedit and filters screenimages and I'm trying to add my own entry to capturecardefinitions.xml
it's not going to well so any help will be appreciated:D

Code:
<capturecard commercialname="Hauppauge Nova-TD-500 DVB-T Tuner Device (Tuner 1)" capturename="Hauppague WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0)" devid="ven_0070&dev_6800&subsys_68000070&rev_01">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/>
<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider" checkdevice="false"/>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) " checkdevice="true"/>
<filter cat="capture" name="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0) "	checkdevice="true"/>
</filters>
</tv>
</capturecard>

Did you manage to get this working?

Was surprised to get the new card, looks like Ebuyer are shipping these units in the UK but the website has the older version with just the one aerial.

:D

Another one with a supposed nova t-500 (what it says on the box), but has 2 ant ports for diversity and is named the td-500 in device manager.

It also uses different drivers. They seem to be the same number as the nova stick drivers iirc (could be wrong, was skim reading).

Hope the developers add support for this soon! :)

Hi,
After you try to add the card in MP Setup, attach your configuration.log to you post.

I can post my mediaportal logs for the hauppage td-500 if you like. However, what will this show as the card isn't recognised yet by mediaportal?
