Thanks for the new version, worked great for me.
The only thing I was missing is the graphic preview of the menu position, but it worked without this ;)

Also tried Sambals RSS plugin, it also works great. Thanks for you efforts!

    Sambal, any comments on this?

Applied the drop shadow to the crowding fix to see what it would look like using the Acens font. The menu items should be centered vertically but you get the idea.

If you could manage to get a screenshot somehow that would probably make things a bit more clear.

Okay, I made two screenshots today and enclosed them in my zip file.

The first is taken when MP is first opened and scrolled one to the right. The second is taken after I scrolled two to the left. As you can see, button 3 has both 'TV Series' and 'Movies' on it.

I only now realized that button 1 and 5 are both 'music', while the correct order should be: music, weather, pictures, TV Series, Movies.

If it's any help, my TV resolution is set at 1360x768 instead of 1366x768, because that's what my TV supports.

I'm also using one of the later svn versions (from the beginning of august) of Mediaportal.

is there any way for me to use the menu generator to read my current basichome.xml then simply delete or add buttons rather than starting from scratch every time?

No there isn't. I haven't implemented this feature yet. It is already on the todolist though :)

I like it , have you updated the Aeon Menu Generator SVN yet :p?

PS: Attached some modified/updated gfx to match Aeon Alpha 14 release, works well with Acens and the shadow :D

    Hey, Sambal,

Could you please look into my situation? I have some friends coming over on Friday and would love to show them my cool HTPC with formidable skin, but the impression would last a lot longer if the home menu was at least bugfree.

    Regards,

    Davio

Edit: I made a new basichome.xml with the generator with your RSS ticker and I looked at it with Dreamweaver. I might be on to something!!! Look at the screenshot of Dreamweaver. For every item in the menu there are 13 controls at the bottom of the xml-file and almost every time the posX-value has a decrease of 320, except in the red encircled cases, where it's the same. Could this be the cause for the overlapping buttons? The green encircled case shows the normal progression.

The posX in combination with the animation results in the final positioning. So this should not be a problem.
Can you please check the error.log for anything out of the ordinary.
Do you have the same problems with the original BasicHome.xml?
