Is it possible to create a TVSeriesOverlay.xml file because genre and year aren't filled in using the videoOverlay.xml file. Instead, I want the series, season, episode and time displayed when playing a series episode.

Offtopic: Can somebody give me a link to the ID numbers used in MP, what they stand for...

ID's are created by the author of each skin(or plugin), and are found almost at the top in each .xml.

If this was what you wanted to know? A list does not excist to my knowledge, and if it did it would not be complete.

RadioTime SKin files

I found this plugin this weekend and does all I want as far as radio goes..so had to skin it!

The archive containes the xml, 2 media files and a tweaked plugin, some focus issues and enabling 'big icon list', spoken with dukus and he is ok with me including this tweaked version.

The RadioTime plugin can be found here check it out if you like radio.

Still working on the skin but fully usable few more tweaks to views needed and not sure about logo placement etc...sugesstions welcome.

Music PlayingNow & LastFM screens

For thoses that are intrested here is an update to the Music Now playing screen I posted a couple weeks back, not much change some tidy up and added the Fanart' feature.

This version looks for .jpg fanart images (as that what I have :)) in the same folder as the std skin music backgrounds named <Artist>.jpg.

As before the archive contains the xml files and the MusicOSD windows plugin.

The there are 2 versions of the MusicOSD.xml file (MusicOSD.xml and PNG_MusicOSD.xml) - the default looks for .jpg if all you files are .png then rename 2nd file.

In addition I have included mymusicsongs.xml and mymusicplaylist.xml, these have been altered to select the the OSD screen when selecting 'Now Playing' from their menu - not required but there is you what them.

I also attach a version of the LastFM screen with same look...

Enjoy...

Trevor

For instance, if you look at the musicOverlay, videoOverlay and videoOverlayTop xml files, they all have different id numbers. I see now that changing them doesn't have any effect.

If I make a TVSeriesOverlay.xml file with an ID number I chose, it won't work (I expected that). Thus, there has to be some sort of connection. Can you tell me which one?

Maybe Trevor can work something out, as he's very good in this kind of stuff :D

Just had a quick check of the code and the Overlay xml files are loaded internaly by MP and there is specific code to deal with each overlay type.

So when playing a video the videooverlay is selected, not sure how the decison is made as to std or top version of video is handled, same for music. Would take more than a quick look at the code to fully understand how it all works.

One option might be to mod the current overlay files and use conditional visiablity to hide the controls if not playing a video via TVSeries...this would all depend id the TVSeries plugin has any conditions that can be checked....

Another question about the musicOverlay. When a song is playing and you go to the 'menu slide' screen and change something results in not showing the musicoverlay unless you are back in the home screen. From here going to video, tvseries, plugins, whatever.... shows the music overlay but not if you go in the music folder again. Choosing another song doesn't change this.
Is this problem related to the skin?
