Hm, I just tried this on my own PC. It seems to work with hibernation too, but every time my PC almost immediately woke up again. I guess this is probably because some packets want to arrive from the router, since I was connected to ICQ etc.
I also tried activating the third option (I don't know its english description), but it had no effect.

Yes, this might be a problem if ICQ uses a port that is always forwarded. I don't use ICQ on the server, but with other apps I also see this behaviour. I disable the port forwarding in the router after using them. But it may also depend on the special setup. Also some other devices may cause the instant re-wakeup or one of the BIOS wakeup settings. Maybe you have to experiment a little bit. But maybe not every Board or NIC performs well here. My server board is an AsRock ALiveNF6G-DVI with NForce 430, integrated NVIDIA NIC and AMI BIOS. OS is XP64, XP32 also works.

Edit: The third option (I also only know the german string "Nur Verwaltungsstationen..." ;)) is turned off.

Welll - there have been serveral "bug reports" and even more questions about "How to avoid that the TV-Server PC is going into standby while I am doing non-TV stuff on my MP clients (like watching movies)" - so regard this as an attempt to "fix" this inappropriate behaviour.

Hi, I've had an issue with the machine going into standby too when using other apps. I've added each process I use to the list in PowerScheduler which has pretty much solved the issue for me.
It would be nice though if the Process list window were a little more user friendly. Perhaps a 5 - 10 line vertical scroll box with one process per line rather than the current list seperated by commas?
    Any chance?

    Thanks

Is it really so that i can't put my computer to sleep manually if i'm using this feature? I was hoping that this feature would work so that for example, if i chose to allow standby only between 23 and 8 o'clock, the computer would then go into sleep if it idled long enough and during day time it would always stay on, unless i put it to sleep manually with my remote.

I guess i just understood the purpose of this feature a little bit wrong (?)

I think my values are a lot lower, but I only run the TV-Server on my server, no MP. Of cause you are able to put in your own values after finding out which separate your load and idle states - it's a nice tool!

Why dont let the tv-server ping the clients and if one or more of them answer, dont let the server go into sleep?
Then you can do other things on the client, I do that on my clients, but with my own program, shouldn't that be a god thing?
I also have a program in my clients that starts the server if its sleeping, the program uses wake on lan feature.

I think this is the best solution yet. Why not make this a part of mediaportals power scheduler??

I device manager on my tvserver there are 3 options in the wake up capabilities of the network card.

    1 link change
    2 pattern match
    3 wake on lan

If I use option 1 or 2 the server turns on and off the whole time even if I dont doo anything on any other computer. But if I use option 3 (wake on lan) it only turns on when I send it a magic packet. If you could get mediaportal to send a magic packet every time it was needed it would be great... And would work 100%
