Hi skullmonkey,

Really difficult to troubleshoot something like this without more info. If this only happens when you it starts the actual import process (after the scanning / finding orphans) then it may be related to mediainfo.dll. Can you try getting the latest copy of the dll from the MediaInfo site? Maybe try the x64 dll. The site is here - MediaInfo

Also, what version are you using? The last full release (0.7.3) or the current beta? If it's the beta, do you have the latest grabber.dll as well? It's in a post a few before this one.

The app is compiled in Visual Studio for 'any CPU' but that's not always perfect for x64 systems. Have you tried my suggestion to run it in compatibility mode? Right-click the executable and there should be a compatibility tab to play with.

No idea what you mean about changing AMC Updater though?!

Cheers,

Orion.

Im looking for any way to change the "." for "," as separator in all my existing category fields.
I suppose AMCupdater is not able to do it... Is it???
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Hi z3us,

Sorry - I never implemented a 'replace' function for the manual updater, so AMC Updater can't do what you need.

There's loads of xml editing tools out there which may do the trick. I've just started playing with XML Notepad 2007 from Microsoft - here. It can do a global find / replace using an XPATH query to limit the scope - so with the right query you should be able to limit it to just the Category field. Might work - worth a try!

Best of luck,

Orion.

Hi All,

I'm aiming to get a full release of version 0.8 out soon. Attached is the latest dev copy if anyone wants to have a play. Let me know if you find any bugs or any weirdness of any kind!

Can anyone recommend a decent tool for creating help files? At the moment I've just got the documentation in Word but it would be nice to make a proper help file with context F1 help etc.

Cheerio,

Orion.
Hi Orion,
With that version, the 'Internet Lookup behaviour' doesn't seem to work anymore..
I choose 'try to find the best choice', however I get the all results Window popup and the first result is exactly my filename....

Hm thanks for the script but the updater still crashes at the end, i wonder why the error message tells me that a wrong media file is the cause of the error. There are normal avi´s , mpg´s and so on.

I´m using Vista X64 so could that be the reason. I think the program crashes after trying to fill the xml database file.

Only if i use the version with error handling some posts before it doesnt crash but it doesnt fill the xml file either. i mean that could be two problem note only one.

Hiya,

Can you please try analysing one of your media files using the Tests tab in AMCUpdater? My first guess is a problem with MediaInfo.dll and VistaX64. There are specific 64 bit versions of MediaInfo which may also be worth a shot, but try that test first and let us know.

Thanks,

Orion.
