AW: [Android] aMPdroid 0.6 - Android Remote Control

it runs on the 8.4" tablet Odys -

have actual EPG shown on the tablet
    - but remote-funktion is not working :-(
couldn't remote the HTPC itself -

    after setting the settings -
    i tipp on connect -
tablet say : connected to remote
when i choose the remote symbol - and try to choose TV
tablet says not connected to remote

    EDIT:
    now it works :???:
    now idea why

    another question:
auto-connect the remote remote to client.
when i connetct to client"x" i allways have to connect the remote extra?
the connection to the server (multiseat) is allways done by connecting.

    difficult 2 explain in englisch:

    ich starte die APP
    wähle ein profil aus
    ich bekomm EPG feedback etc.pp
er verbindet - aber um die "remote-funktionen" zu nutzen
muß ich nochmal auf Menu und dann auf "connect" -
DANN kan ich den HTPC auch steuern ...
    ist das so gewollt?
oder hab ich die falschen einstellungen?

    grüßle zum WE

There is a "auto-connect" option in the settings. The term "Connect" for the button is a bit misleading, maybe I should change it to "Select Client". "Connect" in the menu will actually establish a TCP connection to the wifiremote plugin (indicated by the glowing icon on the bottom-right).

    1. Albums with various artists have no thumbs (I had to make a copy and rename them to like “Various Artists-Now Music 18”
    then I got the “thumb/Albumcover”.

    2. Some Albums are empty, often also albums with various artists. But also all U2 albums, and when I changed albumartist from
U2 to Band2 it worked OK.
These sound like bugs of GmaWebservice, so please report on the gma thread.

    Some humble suggestions:
Like others I miss some buttons in the remote, but mostly TV-Guide. (On 7” there is a lot of space, I know)
In music I miss a stop-button, and I would like the first Fan (default-fan) to be the Artist-fan and the folder-fan the last.
Or maybe to be able to change it.
And like others say, the main menu is not the same high standard as the rest.

Looking forward to new release’s, as I´m sure this is getting even better.
You can long-press the pause button for stop. There is a layout planned with more buttons, but for phone-sized devices I prefer a simple layout with only a few buttons.

Is there a list of feature reqeust somewhere before I say thinks that already are suggested?

The problem of a good beta is that people get enthusiastic and come op with creative ideas. ;)

    thx for answer diebagger,

at the moment shift+1 is the only key i miss :)

but i have another idea . i don't know i this is possible. but i think it would be fine to support nofears "sconi plugin" so it would be possible to control light etc over android :)
the problem is that i havn't found a way to start the tv or projector with android :( but over sconi it could be possible

    Hi!
    Lovely app.
I have so far 1 small/big problem. After i go in to TV Series in aMPdroid, i have to reboot the computer before i can access TV Series in MediaPortal again. It seems that the gmaservices locks the database for some reason, it dont help by just restarting MP, if i try that, MP crashes on loading plugins.

    Hi diebagger..

I notice serious battery drain after closing the app. It seems that aMPdroid stays active. I did some testing with current widget. Where my normal drain is 5-7 aM, I had values like the screen was turned on.
So to be clear.. after closing aMPdroid (hitting home button) and screen turned off, there was battery drain off about 150-250 mA.
When I force closed aMPdroid in settings, the drain went directly back to normal values.

Maybe others here can do some tests to confirm. Or maybe It's something in aMPdroid.

By the way, this is one of my favourite apps already. I can now control my music when I'm relaxing in the garden without having to go inside to change music.
    Thanx

First of all, it is a really nice application and has a nice WoW factor ;) Thanks for all your (you and others involved with the prequisites) efforts!!! :D
Any idea why aMPdroid is unable to connect after stand-by and resuming MP ?
It works everytime if I restart the PC (MP is on autostart).
