Re: AW: [Android] aMPdroid 0.6 - Android Remote Control

    thx.

    now remote works.
i but two problems i do still have:

    1) tv says: no connection to service. do i have to configure tv4home? port is open :)
    2) in tv series i can play a video on pc, but when i try to download it says: received authentification challange is null

Ups, I have to confess that the downloading service has the authentication values (admin/admin) hardcoded in it... :(

You'll have to used admin/admin in your gmawebservice.

    :sorry:

thx. no problem. now all is working :) but my hsdpa connection is too low ;-)
now i will have a look to get streaming tv to work :)

i testet timeshifting with older vplayer: it dosn't crash but also do not play tv. the player goes in background and if i change to vplayer i can only see the filelist.
i think i will wait for the update :)

Most things are working but I don't see my shares/folders for music or movies. I also quite often get some connection problems when I'm scrolling tv series. I end up with only a fraction of my series and no possibility to refresh. I'm on MePo 1.1.2 and HTC DESIRE

    Hello,

now i finally found the error why Tv was not working: I disable the Windows Firewall but it was still active and the second error was a wrong entry in the Firewall. There was an entry for Tv4home but no open ports in it. So you have to do an other entry manual with open Port 4321.

    greetings

Does the below explanation below mean that it is possble when I am at work to connect home with the app and use the same functions, TV, remote control, streaming (when link to the player is fixed) and all the other great functions?

If possible what should I do?

Quote: WifiRemote over http: WifiRemote uses TCP so it can send commands fast and receive replies asynchronious.

You can also route TCP ports to the internet, so noone is stopping you from accessing the remote control part over the internet (although I don't quite see the point of it). What I wanted to say is that WifiRemote will most likely not offer a http interface anytime soon.

Sounds like your wifi connection drops during browsing

    Upcoming maintainance release - Translations

I will release a new version shortly that mainly contains a much improved client setup dialog and some bugfixes. There were a few changes to the localisation file. Anyone who has already sent me translations (or wants to add new ones): Please send me up-to-date xml files until tomorrow so I can include them in the release.

    Hi,

First, THis remote looks really good, feels solid and snappy. Indeed an installation package would be easier as planned in future, but for first tests and release it is fine ofcourse :) Overall: Awesome work!!!!!!!! Im sticking with Android because of this app. :)

I got it working on my HTC Desire after correcting some stupid errors. :) Of myself ofcourse.

But I keep bumping in the firewall issue. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials. I can disable the local network firewall. (in config > firewall) THen TV section works largly.
If I re-enable the firewall again, it stops to function. If I disable this function, windows 7 keeps bugging about a security risk.

Q1: How can I enable acces of the wifi connection to / from my Android so it works, Without disabling it completely.

Q2: After changing some settings in aMPdroid itself, do I NEED to restart it? or are changes instant?

    I use: Win 7 pro.
    In aMPdroid:
-I had to press connect twice to get it to work. (as described here and there)
-I had to use IP adress instead of host name. (where can I find correct hostname for it to work??)
-all user/pass are set to admin/admin (like suggested ofcourse)
-client name must be set exactly as described in mpconfiguration > TV > Client

Try to create a rule for the port 4321!

    They SHOULD be instant

    Is already fixed.

    I'm investigating this issue...

Another thanks for your hard work DieBagger. I've been monitoring your thread for months. Just my luck that you release a test version just as things go crazy for me :p

Really hope to get this installed tomorrow.

Again, huge :D for your efforts.

AW: [Android] aMPdroid 0.6 - Android Remote Control

reinstalled mp and tv is working now. so i had a second look into ampdroid. after opening ports 4321, 44321 for tv4home and gma in the firewall i finally had a connection to the tv part. nice! epg works, planning recordings and cancelling also.

music part: last time i tested only with a handful of songs, this time with the whole collection and ran into difficulties^^ music>artist: songs beginning with a non alphabetical letter, e.g. (+44), will load on click but won't play, "not implemented yet" shows up. little different behaviour for artists beginning with an apostrophe, e.g. 'nsync, this will load and load and load and never comes to an end... if i play these titles in music>folders view, they play fine...
next problem was when i tried to access the music>songs tab. i get a "songs loading failed, check your connection". because i didn't get this one last time with the handful of mp3s, i suppose it is the sum of 12k mp3s making problems?

    and some more suggestions:
    - with larger collections of music/movies... it takes quite some time to scroll to the end of the list... so maybe you could add a slider to draw? would be a useful addition!
    - if you scroll down in your list, then change the view the list starts at the beginning again instead of continueing where you left...
    - while playing around sometimes i got disconnected as it seemed, little mepo was not glowing anymore (is this the connection indicator?). so maybe if he is not glowing a click on him will first automatically reconnect and then bring you to the remote section?
    - some things you already have on your list for sure: save the chosen views when you enter a section the next time, e.g. banner view for series... (it stays the same if you cycle through the tabs, but if you leave for the mainmenu and return, it is in the default view again...)
    - sorting of lists by alphabet, date, ...

i'm still very impressed and excited about new test versions, keep 'em coming :D

(tested with mp 1.2beta, htc desire and moto defy)

Re: [Android] aMPdroid 0.6 - Android Remote Control

Just thought I'd post up with my experiences.

Have installed everything as per instructions in 1st and 2nd post.

I could never get aMPdroid to connect without the auto connect option selected. It would say it connected successfully, but then trying any commands would result in "no connection to host"

Now that I have it running, I have a weird problem that seems to occur whenever I try to access the series view in ampdroid, it will work once, but after that, it will never load again. MP-TVSeries will then not open in mediaportal. If i close and restart mediaportal, it will just crash while loading, requiring a restart.

Other than that, everything works well.

So my suspicion is that GMA service is doing something funny.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that aMPdroid doesn't seem to be able to get the PC out of screensaver mode, without having to go to the remote tab and push a button.

    Using:
    MP 1.2 beta
    MP-TVSeries 3.0.3.1747
    Windows 7 64bit
