Thank you DieBagger for this great app!
I just downgraded from 0.8.1 to 0.8 again, because the the app has problems with the tv server functions. This section doesn't work anymore. After downgrade everything well again, without changing anything.

That's very strange, everything is working fine here... What excactly isn't working and can you post some log files (logcat and tv4home logs).

0.8.1 is responding slower than 0.8 in all sections. The tv server functions stop respondig, when loading the groups or channels. With 0.8.1 i could see the epg only once. All other tries stopped responding when loading groups or channels.

Please give me advice how to collect useful logs.

Installed this app last night and I love it already. Very good reaction speed over wifi and nice GUI.

Just a few things:
- the epg section looks really good. But I would love to have additionally a screen like in MP or iPimp's epg for desktop. Maybe a possibility for landscape mode? Would be much easier to scroll through the day and still have an overview of a few channels (you know what I mean?).
Should I make a request entry?
- All my videos, music and pictures are on my server which has the TV-Server but not MediaPortal installed. Would it be possible to select the shares for media files without MP installed? But I guess that's more a GMAWebservice related topic isn't it?

All in all a really amazing way to bring MP on your android phone. Thumbs up, great work

Firstly kudos for the work on this app

I'm a new member 1st post (please be kind) and have set up my box with Mediaportal and aMPdroid.
Running the current version with the tv server that came with it.

All is good in this regard.

I have followed the install guide for aMPdroid but am stuck with the TV4 part of the install.
From the guide it reads to me that I need WHS for the tv functions I am running WIN7, do i need WHS or am I missing something?
I really want to use this full featured.

All other functions are fine (no content on the box yet but navigation is swell)

If anyone can offer assistance or point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Interesting case. It's indeed handled by GMAWebservice, so you need that at least running. You could save the databases also on the share and run GMA on the server, which then uses the databases, so that you can browse the media files without MP.

No, you don't need to use WHS for TV4Home. TV4Home consists of multiple parts - one of which is a plugin for WHS, but that part is not required for aMPdroid. If you download the core service from here (be sure to select Core Service and not WHS Add-In) and install that you're fine.

Hi,
after installing all the updates to GMAWebservice, WifiRemote and Ampdroid, nearly nothing works anymore for me. I got The remote to working again, but i can neither browse music shares, artists, albums, songs nor moving pictues, series... Whenever i try to browse artists, for example, i get loading artists indefenitely. After disconnecting nothing works until i kill the app. Streaming doesn't work. All i get is the streaming options, but everything is greyed out. The test pages work though. Any ideas?

I had some issues as well after the update. After removing aMPdroid from my Samsung Galaxy S as well as the aMPdroid folder on the SD card and reinstalling everything from scratch, the issue is solved.

Before uninstalling, I played around with the aMPdroid "load items" setting. The issues might be related to that.

Hi DIEBAGGER,

i have troubles to access gma and the tv4home with the last release.
When MP is running i can not access EPG, Music or Videos, but only with aMPDroid, the Testurls on localhost (i have no second PC at home in the moment) are okay. When i close MP aMPDroid runs very fine. The Remotecontrol is okay, but after using the Video, Music or EPG the Remotecontrol is very slow an when i try to reconnect aMPDroid then i cant connect, and some times after long time aMPDroid is crashing after this. The only thing i can do is stop aMPDroid and delete the Cache or stop MP then aMPDroid is ready agin to login.
The Logs from aLogcat and MP are in the zip-file.

EDIT: i forgot to say i uninstalled GMA, TV4Home and Wifremot deleted all data and installed it agin 3 times, the same with aMPDroid.

Gave mine a bit of an overhaul to match my phone theme, not too keen on the bottom buttons but had to make them square to cover the existing ones behind that appear to be code based ones rather than graphical ones.

Is it possible to play tv on mediaportal from epg etc.? I'm only getting record and stream options, stream doesnt make a lot of sence to me since in sat in fron my TV when using it so a play on pc option for TV the same as movies and series would be a welcome addition, also a stop button at the bottom as well as pause. Will add these to the feature requests.

Looks nice... You can trigger stop by long-pressing pause. Regarding the "Play on pc" for channels: it's not possible to do this atm with the wifiremote plugin. Unfortunately there is not easy "Start channel x" method in MediaPortal.
