AW: Re: [Android] aMPdroid 0.8 - Streaming and more

Seems like everything works great - as long as I do not have MediaPortal open on my HTPC - then I can stream TV, watch my movies & my series, but as soon as I have MediaPortal open, I seem to get the deadlock issues refered to in the wiki & I can not use ampdroid at all...

You need to give a more detailled description of your problem and ideally post your logcat files for us to help you figure out what's going wrong...

Do you just need the standard mediaportal logs - or where do your services keep its logs. also, if you need any logs of my phone, you will have to tell me where they are.

    thanx
    Hein

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log\...log
on Android you have to install "aLogcat" to generate a log File. "https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat&feature=search_result"

OK, I deleted all the log files to start fresh

I used ampdroid to start watching an episode of one of my series, everything worked fine until i tried to seek a little bit forward. I got an error (-38,0) then everything except the wifiremote stopped working. I could not get an epg from the tv service nor could i watch another episode from my series.

Logs are attached. Hopefully you can figure something out from them

    Thanx
    Hein

This seems very strange could you provide a few extra information:
    a) Start a command line and enter the following command:
    "c:\Program Files (x86)\GmaWebService\FFMpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -y -ss 201 -i "E:\TV Series\Futurama\Futurama.S06E02.In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela.HDTV.XviD-FQM.[VTV].avi" -s 600x338 -aspect 01.773 -vcodec libx264 -b 512k -profile baseline -preset veryfast -acodec aac -ab 128k -ac 2 -strict experimental -sn -async 1 -f mpegts "out.ts"
    What is the output shown?
    b) What device are you using?
    c) Does this happen for every video?
    d) Are you sure you are using the latest version of GmaWebservice

Also, can you post your GmaWebservice log again after setting the log level to trace -> Troubleshooting - MediaPortal Wiki

Hmm, that was not the error I ran across. We've had some problems in the past with the MEDIA_ERROR_UNKNOWN thing, I'll take another look at it; but I can't promise anything.

Thank you for taking the time.

If it might help, i run Gingerbread 2.3.3 on both devices. Everything works fine with VPlayer, but an other player gives the same error reported above and does not show the movie/stream.

Ok, what you can try is to:
    a) long-press the "Start Video" button in the streaming details screen. This will download the stream instead of starting it in the mediaplayer.
    b) After a while you can cancel the download.
    c) Open the file (sdcard\aMPdroid\streaming_debug.ts) with the default video component (view video)
    d) Can you playback the file? If not, please post your logcat files

Done a) and b), but i don't seem to be able to play the video with the default component as i don't seem to have a way to tell my device to do so (view video). If i browse to the .ts file at the address you specify and tap on it, i don't have an option to play it (only remove, rename, share, etc.). If i first open the default video applications (videos), the file is simply not listed (thus not playable) and there is no feature in the application to browse and try to play specific files, it only lists those files the mediascanner recognizes as videos and allows you to play/remove only those. It looks like it doesn't recognize then a .ts file as a video file.

I also have MoboPlayer installed on my device, and if i use that to browse to the .ts file and open it, it now plays correctly. Does this help in further identifying the problem?

Could you try using a file browser (such as ES File Explorer or Astro File Manager) to find it and try to play it with the 'view video' option from there. I've experienced that it doesn't show up when playing it from the downloads app.

Installed "ES File Explorer" and tried to open it in the built-in video application. It reports a very explanatory: "Unsupported File Type", then closes. It works fine with Mobo Video Player or VPlayer.

Ok, thanks; then it's actually the problem I already knew of. It has something to do with the audio but I don't get what it is yet. Some videos with exactly the same codec do seem to work... It's probably some bug in ffmpeg or android, but that doesn't help us further.

For my ony Ericsson X10i it doesn't seem to be an audio issue, cause I've tried ffmpeg without audio:(

Attached are logcat from playing stream_debug.ts and my ffmpeg *bat.

Is there a way to tell on the app which version it is? I dont get the option to start tv on pc or have this new view in mine.

I just went on the market and it said there was an update but it wouldn't install (prob because I had edited and resigned the app) so I unistalled and reinstalled fresh but there doesn't appear to be any changes like mentioned above.
