douh !!! I didnt realize there was no release yet !! :(

hopefully there will be a release soon as I dont want to get into the trouble of learning how to compile etc.

btw, apart from listing and being able to send a file to mediaportal htpc to start playing, does it also play in the device the files? like streaming? also for TV ???

thanks for the link DieBagger, have you heard about HAMACHI? Is it a better solution? as in safer, or maybe easier as no need to take care of dynamic IPs?

Currently you can a) browse adn play local files on the htpc b) download local files to your sd card and then play them and c) stream live tv to the mobile...

Depending on how well the streaming service goes their will be more streaming options (transcoding etc.) in the future.

As far as I know it's not easy to get that working on android...

about hamachi...of course :p i was thinking about how well it worked in my computer :p sorry for the stupid question.

that is exactly what i need for now !! great !!

I just need to find the optimum way of opening external access to my server in a safe and easy way so i can access it using my android. i will try your link, although i am a bit untrusty on windows wizard opening to much access to my computer.
i need also access to 4therecord, from their native web, but i guess i have to use something else for this.

    This looks awesome!
I assume you haven't had time to look on getting this to work on old android 1.6? Maybe it's time for my boss to give me a new phone. I don't think the resolution on my HTC tattoo would give this app justice:)

    Regarding VPN.
If someone have missed pfsense, take look. Grab your old rigg from the basement, add two network cards, download the CD-version and you will have a fully featured firewall/router with good VPN server support. You will get better network security as a bonus:)

I'm running pfsense 2.0 RC on an old pIII 850MHz with 256Meg RAM. Connecting from my Android phone every day through VPN.

I can't wait to try this out!

Recently I bought a Nook Color to use as a MediaPortal remote (I figured that if there was none I would do one myself). Will defenitly keep my eye on this thread!

Keep up the good work (and let us try it soon :D )

    I can't find it .... :(

Can someone help me ... please :D

You'll have to join team mediaportal first to have access... ;) Sorry shouldn't have brought this up, I was referring to an internal build available only for team members...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you also have a preview yet on how the Music section of the App will work?

Will you make this App compatible for QVGA (240x320) devices as well?

No, sorry but the plan is to make it similar to the videos browsing... I'm not using music with mediaportal a lot so this isn't really a priority for now.

I will deal with different resolutions/layouts once the basic functionality is done...
