Anyone using a PDA or Mobile as a remote? (5 Viewers)

Sorry I haven't updated the thread, my PC broke and I lost everything on it, so I have to start again.

I haven't a clue about Mono, but if someone wants to develop that then go ahead.

I need someone that knows about GDI+ so they can do the graphics side of it and i can do the code behind. Anyone willing to help?

I really want to see this happen. I can give it a try to do the graphics portion of it. My biggest concern is that it should be able to be navigated without using the stylus. Also, I think it should be used in Landscape orientation. What do you think?

Lanscape or Portrait mode shouldn't matter - The best thing (in my mind) would be to have a screen/skin creator application which would perform the button translation from one orientation to the other.

That Salling Clicker software is pretty cool and your script seems to work pretty well (I havn't tested TV with it yet). Couple things: I have a Dell Axim x30 and it doesn't have a hardware keyboard, so I can't click '0' or '='. I don't know how to make it be able to used with any device, but thats my problem so far.

Also, is it possible to display what is happening in MP on the Salling Clicker device. The reason I would want this is because I don't want to have to turn on my projector just to play some music on my HTPC (it takes a couple minute to warm up). I want to be able to just pick up my PPC and use it to browse my music collection and start playing. It would be great if this is possible.

Slight misunderstanding:

The '0' key is the button in the middle of your directional pad.
The '=' key is the 'Extras' softkey displayed in Salling Clicker.

It is not currently possible (as far as I am aware) to display what is happening in MediaPortal. There is a bluetooth plugin (MpBlue) for MediaPortal however that does do this for music I believe.

Beta 3.5 is now available at the same link. Fixes include being able to navigate DVD menus.

I have tried MPBlue, but it is no longer in developement and I didn't like the layout and it was slow. Salling Clicker is very quick and responsive. How is it possible for the iTunes script to display this information, but not MP?

If you're keen to try out some really early beta code, download the attached and follow the instructions in the readme...

If this turns out to be useful I guess I can spruce up the UI to make it look more MP'ish. If anyone's got any suggestions on button layout by all means give me some feedback.

I tried to test your plugin, but when I try to input the MP IP address, it only allows 2 digits in the final number. My IP is 192.168.0.100, but it only allows me to input 192.168.0.10.

Both of these plugins seem to be very light weight and responsive which is great. The only thing I would like to see is what i have mentioned before, display the MP info on the PPC. Like a second monitor. Thanks for the development so far.
