It's a cache for common audiodb.com lookups and common similarartist look ups. This data is fairly static and if absent adds a lot to the look up time. There is also a a cache for the individual pitchforktv music videos (these are unlikely to change). I do not include a cache of other people's data.

If there was no cache and I looked up my library with similar artists I am guessing I would make ~2x600=1200 extra API calls to generate the list.

And if in the time between the creation of a file in the cache, there will be changes on the site? Then the cache is out of date.

Hey KJ, any chance you can do some sort of filtering by resolution? Maybe a min and max value? Don't really need some of these 1080p versions that are burning through my data cap

I've got some encoding problems (umlaut, accents and others), maybe related to the cyrillic problems discussed in this thread (Youtube-DL??).
A couple of examples:
Björk - Björk
Röyksopp - Röyksopp
Hüsker Dü - Hüsker Dü
Janelle Monáe - Janelle Monáe
Sigur Rós - Sigur Rós

Also some artist names are html encoded (well found one example: Mumford & Sons).

@Ministerk - I think they end up as the correct file name when they are written to disk? Are they written to disk with errors in the latest version?

Yes & is something I have to code for still. I think I got most of the other html codes.

@TommySharp - I made an executive decision to go with highest quality. Adding quality selection adds a fair bit of extra coding, I might add as an option if I do a rewrite.

They are saved on disc with the incorrect file name.
It did work with the MVD attached in this post: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/app-music-video-downloader.120700/page-10#post-1020116 (except strange characters in tray tip - but that's a minor).
