    Hi again

the problem i am having is there is no signal coming from my card at all for it to scan. I have tried every configuration i can find and nothing ever gets a signal to come from the card to the program so i can start the scan

That doesn't make sense to me. The purpose of scanning is to find channels. The fact that it says strength 0 and quality 0 and no channels found is a sign that *scanning is working*. It is normal. All it means is that there are no channels on the frequency that you're scanning, not that your card isn't receiving signal at all. Like I said, select a QAM standard and then click scan for channels. Let TV Server check *all* the frequencies (ie. don't click "cancel"). If no channels are found on all frequencies then try the next standard. Again, let TV Server check all the frequencies. It may be a matter of taking some time with a touch of trial and error, but your patience should be rewarded.

If you're saying that you've done what I've suggested above then give me some time to contact Migue (our resident North American). Hopefully he will be able to set you straight...

I did as you said and scanned all channels with all variations in the drop down box for QAM and it found noting . I know the card works because windows media center finds channels and i can watch up to channel 20 but after that Microsoft did an up date earlier this year that broke QAM and you can not decode channels above 20 and it seems they are not in any hurry to fix the problem ( I have read it is a forced break to stop the cable co and tivo from suing them because the media center allowed you to record programs )

thanks again for your help on this

Ah, now that you've posted those logs I can see a major problem:

Every frequency that you scan generates one of these errors. That makes for really long logs!
You're not attempting to use the tuner in another program are you? That won't work...
If you open TV Server configuration and go to the list of tuner cards, what is listed in the "type" column for the ATSC/QAM tuner?

    Hi again

Thanks for the screenshot. Everything looks good. If you're willing to hang in there then I'd like to provide you with a test DLL that will add more information to the logs to help us figure out what is going on. I'd give it to you right now except that I'm at work, so it will have to wait until this evening (6 hours in my timezone)...

    Best regards,
    mm

    Hi again iiipm

I apologise for the delay - I got sidetracked with supporting people having trouble with 1.2.0b...
Okay, I have created the debug DLL as promised. Instructions for use:

    1. Stop the TV Server service.
    2. Make a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder.
    3. Download and extract the attached TVLibrary.dll into your TV Server install folder.
    4. Delete your TV Server log files from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log.
    5. Start TV Server.

After you've done that, please attempt to scan for channels again. Scanning one of the standards (maybe "QAM Standard"?) should be enough (but make sure you let TV Server scan all the frequencies). Once scanning finishes, please post the complete set of TV Server logs...
