i have a ati hdtv tuner and every time i try to search for channels MP just crashes. i am a n00bie to MP so i need all the help i can get

Are you trying the NTSC or ATSC tuner?
I think the NTSC still doesn't work right... seems there are a lot of 'conditions' that the definitions included to make the cards work haven't been debugged, or tested across the many platforms we all have... I'm finding this out as I attempt to get the NTSC tuners in my system up and running. ATSC is a BREEZE comparitively speaking
