@pur_berger : try to register Atmowin
comand line : AtmowinA.exe /register maybe the registry is broken, and look the rights on this folder.

Good Idea - same behaviour - even when I register the object with the InstallerPath (C:\ProgrammData ...) it doesn't connect. The registry looks fine - the entries are there and they also change when I register it from the root path (C:\Atmo).

The whole point here is - Atmwoin does start and is working in any installation and any path used - as explained it has nothing to do with MP - but MP won't connect.

@pur_berger so hopefully you didn't put hardcoded paths somewhere?

do not understand..
This is no hard programmed path
That is programmatically properly.
All programs with read and write handles to use this path.
Or they want to turn off their UAC for AtmoWin/AtmoLight to work?

Do use WIn8 with high right and not WinXP

you can move AtmoWin anywhere
without move the "Language Path" to.
that is what i read. (UAC related)
why i should do it
if i can install all available files for AtmoWin on the same place?
so user found alle related files on the same place.

yes.. as standalone
not in Connection with AtmoLight Plugin

but MP won't connect.

MP never connect but AtmoLight Plugin do it.

Ahm - OK - jetzt aber ...

Es ist klar wozu MS Program Data eingeführt hat - und ja - das führt hin und wieder zu problemen wenn Software seine "Variablen" ins Programmverzeichnis schreiben will - darüber brauchen wir nicht zu diskutieren. Was der Language Path mit dem zu tun hat entzieht sich jetzt meinem Verständnis. Ich habe auch kein Problem damit das Atmowin ins Team Mediaportal Verzeichnis geschreiebn wird - auch wenn ich - da Fremdsoftware - eine Ebene darüber für richtiger erachten würde. Was aber im Grundsatz nichts daran ändert das - installier ich (nachdem vorher alle Pfade bereingt wurden) sowohl atmowin als auch atmolight dann funzt es nicht (und ja - ich registrier die dll und das Com Object). Ich kann sehen das Euer Plugin Atmowin startet - und das war es dann auch (wie in den Log ersichtlich). Nachdem aber - so wie es früher der Fall war wo atmowin noch separat installiert wurde - die Files (und nur diese - nimmt man den Folder mit geht es nämlich wieder nicht) und schreibt die in einen euen Folder - und ich mach das eben im root weil es immer schon so war - dann plötzlich geht es. Dann startet das Plugin Atmwoin - verbindet sich und kann es auch wieder schließen.[DOUBLEPOST=1394549786][/DOUBLEPOST]

have you set the good link to AtmowinA.exe in Atmolight ?

1. Move AtmoWin anywhere you want.
2. Do not move the Folder AtmoWin include Language Folder to
3. Set the Path to the New Location of AtmoWinA

not, Sunfire & Homey, but no issue for use it in Program data/Team MP/Atmowin ...

@pur_berger Was der Language Path mit dem zu tun hat entzieht sich jetzt meinem Verständnis.

Der Language Path ist vorgeschrieben und nur von dort werden die Sprach Dateien zum Tray-Menü für AtmoWinA addiert.
Verschiebe sie dann hast du halt nur englisch zur verfügung.
Warum befinden diese sich in Programdata? der rechte wegen halt.

Ich möchte dir gerne helfen.. aber wie gesagt habe kein Win8.
Kann dir nur sagen das hier unter Win7 derartige Probleme nicht auftreten.

lade dich gerne über TeamViewer ein dann kannst sehen hier ist kein Problem

As Azzuro said I'm using win 8.1 and atmowin installed in default MPEI path (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Atmowin) and have no problem with start/end/connection. I have UAC off. Make sure to install Ambilight plug-in and atmowin from original MPEI and then replace them with the version you want to test?
