Legend: Please try again with the latest CVS.

Just to clarify, before you said that ATSC support has been removed from CVS and that the only working builds are RC2 or up until the 02-05-2006 CVS build. I'm more than happy to give it a shot, but does that mean ATSC support has been added back into it now again?

ATSC Support was never removed, it was just temporarily borked.

For me, the 2/5 CVS still works the best, but there have been many changes since then that may have affected your particular card.

I'd love for you to get your card running so we could have another ATSC tester.

    DVICO HDTV Lite

    Hey guys -

I decided to give mediaportal a shot, but have been having some major issues with my tuner card. I am getting BSOD irq not equal to or less then on the zulutcap.sys file. I can't pull up any video without it blue screening. I've tried to install the drivers seperate from the DVICO installation and moved PCI slots. Any other suggestions??

Alright, here we go, it's working!!! Well, not quite flawless, but I made a HUGE jump forward today when finally trying out RC2 with mediaportal-cvs-03-15-2006--01-06.rar on top. When I added my card, it immediately recognized it, and the AutoTune dialog clearly stated ATSC on it. C64, I think we are at a stage where I can provide some actual in program feedback now.

    Here my first glance:
    - AutoTune found only 2 channels, even though the FusionHDTV app shows all my 30 HDTV channels.
    - The first time MP gave me errors saying that it cannot activate TimeShifting, then I completely uninstalled MP, reinstalled RC2, put the CVS on top, and then I didn't get the error anymore, but TimeShifting still only gives me a blank picture.
    - Switching between the channels worked fine the first time, but when I try to go into full screen (not in window but actual full screen) it somehow hangs itself up (might not be related to ATSC at all)
    - After reading in my xmltv file, it showed all my channels (since it got them from the program guide), but then none of the channels worked anymore, black picture everywhere, also for the three which were working before.

So far for now, but it's starting to look good. C64, please advise on how to proceed from here :)

Legend: Awesome. We really need you as a tester now becasue your issues are common to many of the ATSC issues at the moment.

Timeshifting is borked for ATSC. You've got to turn it off completely.

The XML TV issue is something I run into as well. XMLTV guide info creates new channels in your channel directories, but with no tuning data. You have to combine them with channels that do have channel data. But in you case, you are only getting 3 channels to tune...

But we have a start. We need to get you in the test team so you can work with me and more importantly: RoChess who will be our lead ATSC tester going forward.

Is it possible for you to check in at the Mediaportal chat on IRC?

OK. It looks like you have a Fusion 5 Lite card. I've got one too. Download the latest DVICO driver's from their wesite. I think they are 3.30.01 or some such. I could also send you a zip file of just the drivers if you want to install from there...

You must disable all DVICO apps. Are they running in your systray? This caused me all kinds of troubles. I prefer to uninstall them since I don't need them, but some people have had success simply by turning them off and setting them to not run in the background.

I can understand if you are reticent to uninstall the DVICO apps because they may be your only method of watching and recording HDTV. I have SageTV and MP so between the two, I always have an option to view/record TV.

Don't lose heart though, we will get you running. It may be a bumpy road for a little while, but the more people we have trying to use MP ATSC, the easier it is to find and quash bugs.

Also, if possible, try to get in on the Mediaportal IRC chat. You can get more realtime guidance there, so long as some of us are available to chat.

ATI HDTV Wonder card is working perfictly with Media Portal at the moment, this includes time shifting recording and sound.

Please dont' break it while trying to fix these other card :>

Hmmm, sorry I have'nt gone thru the whole thread on this one but do you mean you have the ATSC portion of the HDTV Wonder working perfectly.

I have three ATI TV cards. All-In-Wonder 2006, HDTV Wonder & TV Wonder Pro. Cureelty I'm using the AIW and the TV WP together and had'nt thought that I could get the ATSC portion working although I did use it setup to record channels from the analog portion.

Wonder what the feasability of putting all three in together.hmmm

I'm also still wondering if there is a Digital Cable capable tuner out there in the USA yet. I see that Twinhan has a couple but I believe I read somewhere that they won't work over here.

I'm assuming you mean Dual Tuner Digital card. Vbox has announced that one will be available in Q1 2006.

As far as the HD Wonder, if you want to try it, go for it. We could use some feedback on this card.

If you have a high enough spec graphics card it does seem to work.

ATi has shown a prototype that takes the cable ready modules like the HDTVs. When it will finally sell I have no idea.

I'm having problems with time shifting. I just installed RC3 and it is much better than RC2. However, I see no picture when time shifting is on. When time shifting is off, then it works fine. FYI: Snapstream's Beyond TV supports both the card's analog and digital inputs, so it's possible.

I posted some of my feedback on the bugs section. I am reposting here since this seems like the best place.

    Area: Media Portal Program
    MP Version: 2.0 RC3
    Skin: default
    Windows Version: XP SP2
    CPU Type: Opteron 1.8Ghz
    Memory: 1.5G
    Motherboard Chipset: nvidia nForce3 Pro150
    Video Card: Sapphire X1600 (ATI)
    Video Card Driver: Catalyst 6.3
    Video Card Resolution: 1152x864
    Video Render Type: ???
Video Codec Type & Version: ???
Audio Codec Type & Version: ???
    TV Card: ATI HDTV Wonder
TV Card Type: software analog and ATSC OTA
    TV Card Driver: 6.1

    1. When running set up wizard, the analog autoscan feature did not work for analog (no channels found)
    2. When running the configuration screen I get an error when trying to set up the analog card. I navigate to Television > Capture Cards
There are 2 items in the menu -
    ATI HDTV Wonder
    ATI HDTV Wonder (Analogue)
I select the Analogue and press 'edit' and then a popup window comes up and says "Unable to create graph for this device!!". I press ok and then it comes up again with the same popup. I press ok again and then the edit setting screen comes up. There is no autotune tab on this screen.

I tried to manually set up an analog channel, but I was unable to see it in 'My TV'. The message was: 'TV failed to start'

    3. While manually setting up a channel, I chose 'United States' and clicked 'ok'. When I edit the channel, the setting has changed to 'Anguilla'. I tried to change it back to 'United States' and even tried 'Canada', but it always returned to 'Anguilla'.

    4. ATSC autotune did not find San Francisco's KQED channels (9-1,9-2,9-3,9-4, and 9-5). I am able to autotune these channels with ATI's Multimedia Center and Beyond TV. The signal is about 80%.

    5. I am unable to watch TV with 'timeshifting' on. When I switch it on, the TV screen is blank. When recording TV, the screen is also blank. However the TV recording plays back in Windows Media Center, so the recording was successful.
