I tried now a lot of codec combinations. Still the same with delayed video.

How do you prevent delaying mpeg audio when setting delay in ffdshow audio codec?

Could it be that my satelite card is the reason for the delayed AC3? However, I know people who have the same card without delay problems.

I think I will try a new, more powerful graphic card. Even though I do not have dropped frames in video playback / TV.

Forget about that.
It will not help in any way.
I also have these problem and there seems no way to fix it.
I have no idea of the cause but I gues it is the steam itself which causes this sync issue.
I have also tried different hardware / different os / all codecs of the world.
The problem also varies by time. There are times where it is ok but sometimes it is worth.
ARD and ZDF do not have this problem. SAT1 is the worst one.
MPG audio solves it also for me.
Are you using an external receiver for AC3 decoding?

Regards,
grubi.

Yes. I have an external Receiver for the audio decoding.
You are right, it also depends on the time.
Confirmed: SAT1 = worst, then Pro7
ORF1, ORF1 HD, ORF2 almost no delay (very seldomly you can recognize very small delay of video)
ORF2HD delay.

ARD-HD, ZDF-HD - almost no delay.

I checked with a friend having the very same hardware - the same.

I am wondering if there aren't some more people having this problem as I guess it is just these channels with their stream.

Not sure if your system specs are up to date (still using XP).
What helped a bit (but not eleminating the problem) was to upgrade to Vista and also Windows 7 as EVR is immune to cause AV sync issues because of late dropped frames if the GPU or CPU is not able to keep up.

Cheers

I checked with SHIFT+! but I could not see any dropped frames. So I assume it is not the system (XP), right?

Not an expert on this but AFAIK it is the other way round.
In oder to avoid AV sync issues frames are getting dropped by EVR.
You should ask tourettes about that.
Otherwise we start a discussion where two blind men talk about seeing ;)

Cheers.

    no. not at all.
I don't think it is hardware related. I also recognized that at different times of the day the delay varies.
I already tried a fully fresh installation of windows - same.
    MP1.0.2 - MP1.1.0 - same.
