    mhm i've now switched from SAF 4.X to 5.X and at the moment i don't see a delay - not shure if this really solves this or if it's the different show

    You have to switch to AC3 audio to see it.
    SAT.1 is worsest then Pro7 then RTL.
    You wont see it on ARD, ZDF, 3SAT

    Cheers.

    well, then I will give it a try with SAF 5
    I am still running SAF 4.00beta8 as I had problems with some plugins.

    unlikely to make a difference bc ffdshow is not used for tv in saf (afaik), so it will still use pdvd9 for hdtv.
    (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

    yes shure - but i'm not shure about the default settings - perhaps it was just random

    I have the same problem.
    But i think thats no MP problem. I have a Linux VDR based Receiver too.
    When i look on Pro7 some Movies with AC5.1 it´s all fine. If the Movies in AC2.0 I have the delay. The Mpeg Audio have no delay.

    I think the only solution could be different delays for the Channel in correlation of AC5.1 / AC2.0

    The much easier Way: A Plugin looking if there is a 5.1 Audio Stream or not. If there only AC2.0 then switch to Mpeg Audio.
    --> Prefer AC-3 Sound only if 5.1
