You will find that at the moment they are both the short descriptions. Due to the current problems I believe there are issue generating the full description guides.

So that we do not need to keep changing our config, jrobbo is just putting the short guide that he has in both locations. Once the full guides are working he will put them in the correct locations.

Yes you are correct darro, sorry. I have noticed tonight that I have short descriptions now, sigh.

Oh well, a short guide is better then no guide as my recordings will still work.

Interestingly, I took a look in the xmltv.xml file and there is <url> line pointing at a ninemsn encrypted link. So that tells me that the source is ninemsn and that that is the (part of?) the problem, encrypted links.

What we need is an app that scrapes the data from the displayed webpage page, not from the feed. <CTRL> A and <CTRL> C anyone? This method would be very slow but they couldn't stop it unless they encrypted the displayed page and if they did that no-one could read the page!

That is the idea. There a quite a few guys working on getting the full descriptions back. So hopefully it will not be too long.

    Cheers

I was actually looking into creating my own grabber which would programatically do exactly that. I was attempting to write a .NET thing which would parse the rendered output of a website. That way regardless of how they change the encryption, it should, in theory, still work. The only thing to contend with then is the encoding of the URLs ( but I'm also working on a way around that as well  )

Won't have a lot of time to play with it over the next few weeks, but hopefully there will be a way...

got the GetAussieEpg and WebEPG working for some basic EPG data, but damn I do miss DUGG.

DUGG was the best for combined FTA and Foxtel with individual time zone settings.
