Automatic Refreshrate Changer (2 Viewers)

I'm trying to use this on a Zotac MAG with ION graphics. I have created two batches to switch to 24 respectively 50 Hz, these work fine. But if I use the dynamic refresh changer to call these batches I have problems. I use moving pictures.

When I start a movie the refresh rate will change but the movie will not start. When I tick the 're-initialize' box the movie does not start full screen. When I add the wait function the audio will start, but not the video.

Anybody any idea, anybody got this working on ION?

Why do you need a batch for refreshrate change when you have the options right there in ARC settings? Also, try ticking the "notify on refreshrate change" off, if you haven't already. I think I had some problems with that before.

I started out without the batch but had those same problems.

Two reasons for introducing the batch files:
I added a 'wait.exe 5' command as suggested in the first post here, and my workaround is 'manual refresh rate changer'; That is, I programmed two keys on the remote (LM Remote Keymap) to execute the 50fps respectively the 24fps batch file. If I use that before starting playback all is OK. Thinking about that ... I didn't try doing that while the movie is playing ...

im looking for a way to change between aero/non-aero themes and put that in the action bar

aero off for tv channels (anything in 50 hz)
aero on for everything else ( 24p/23.976hz)

any ideas how i make MP do this? what do i put in the action field?

Why? Since disabling AERO will just probably give you tearing. Sounds like 50hz is not working for some case - if you are needing to disable the AERO / v-sync to reduce the amount of dropped frames for example. Make sure that the actual refresh rate changing works.

thats the strange thing! at 50hz with aero off is PERFECT..there are dropped frames reported by SHIFT+1..but the actual video is perfect....
..whereas with aero on its glitchy and blurry

ill investigate further

ok i took some screen dumps of what i see in MP with 50hz /24p(23.976) with aero on and with aero off

here are my results:

50hz + aero = dropped frames - not smooth
50hz + no aero = perfect!
24p + aero = perfect!
24p + no aero = dropped frames or tearing

the 50hz videos are using M$ DTV video decoder
the 24p videos are using CoreAVC 2.0

both are using ffdshow audio decoder (SAF 5 09-17-2010)


if someone could suggest to me a solution to switch easily between aero on/off it would be greatly appreciated...besides ALT TABing out of MP and changing between aero theme and non aero themes!!!

Had a lot of stutter using the MS Codec for HD video/tv. PowerDVD runs fine. ( SAF5 unlocked )

ill give it a go tonight when i get home from work

whats unlocked SAF? how i make that happen? i have powerDVD 10 installed if that makes any difference
