[Soved] Automatic Refreshrate Changer doesn't work anymore for me?

    Hi Devs, hi community!

After a reinstall of ATI CCC and ddrivers Automatic Refreshrate Changer doesn't work anymore for me and i don't know why ! I hope, you can give me a hint, what am i doing wrong! Changing the refreshrate in CCC is working fine, but not with ARC!

    Best regards and Thanks

    Helios

[EDIT]Played around a little bit with the CCC Dual-Monitor Settings, now it works again!

    AW: Automatic Refreshrate Changer

    Hi!

I reported this issue earlier in other threads, but nobobody could help!

Curiously, a lot of dropped frames occur only with NTSC material, HD and SD, 30Hz, 29.97 HZ and 60HZ, please take a look at the screenshot! The TV switches correctly to the refreshrate, i have set in "Automatic Refreshrate Changer - Konfig"!

    Settings ARC:

The default refreshrate settings are a bit outdated, i'm using these (off course they depend on the possible refreshrates of your TV/monitor):

You might wanna take a look @ this Wiki which explains the new settings.

If you set ATi refreshrate @ 24Hz, it'll do 24Hz. When you want 23.976Hz, you need to set it @ 23Hz (ATi CCC wil report 24Hz, but you can double check through windows refreshrate settings for you monitor/TV).

    29Hz refreshrate = 29.97fps
    59Hz refreshrate = 59.94fps

:D for reply HomeY. I have tried your settings, but there is still the same issue with NTSC (nearlly all frames are dropped)! Maybe the issue is TV related -> Link, but in manual i have found these refreshrates , and TV switches the refreshrate fine!

Strange.... I checked the manual of your TV and it should be able to do 24/25/30 fps without a problem.

Looking at your screenshot again, it looks like your refreshrate is set @ 75Hz, so that might be the reason!
Have you tried playing the same video ouside MediaPortal with MPC-HC (Ctrl + J for the graph)?

All other video are working like a charme! It occurs only with NTFS! New screenshots attached! (HDTV 1080i, SDTV, 24p and MPC-HC)

    Hi Helios,

Can you try if you have still have the problem if you only use 1 display. Secondairy disabled.
Might be an issue with display recognition. IF all is well with sec display disabled, this theory would be eliminated.

Question. You are using 2 displays, am I right? Could you give the details about that. Beamer/TV what is primairy/sec and what are the capabillities.

I have tried it, but unfortunaly the same issue. New logs and screenshot are attached! Some Log-Entries are strange:
    Code:

It think, the bold, red text is the reason for the dropped frames, but i have no clue, how to solve it!

Question. You are using 2 displays, am I right? Could you give the details about that. Beamer/TV what is primairy/sec and what are the capabillities.

    First Display is "Samsung SyncMaster 226BW" -> Link! Monitor is configured with 1152 x 864 @ 75Hz!

I have made some more tests with ATI CCC! In CCC it is possible to select the refreshrates 29 Hz & 59 HZ (not italic font), but if i select these refreshrates, CCC directly switches back to 30 Hz & 60 HZ!

Correct, same behaviour happens here, double check the refreshrates through Windows Monitor settings. Then you'll see it's set @ 29 & 59 (hopefully!)
