Hi, hope that someone can help me with ARC.

The thing is that I can't get it to work at all, I get the notification that refresh rate has changed but it doesn't actualy.
I have dual display setup and MP runing on primary LG led tv and desktop on secondary Dell monitor (extended).

When I change the refresh rate in ATI panel (Radeon HD 5570 GPU) it works, and also TMT5 player when pulled from Moving pictures for Blurays changes the refresh rate to 24hz with no problem.

I think I have set up this somehow wrong in ATI Vison Center cause for some time it was working but it was changing the refresh rate on secondary monitor not on LG tv where MP is.

Now it doesn't work at all (just the notification in MP screen).
Win 7 is the os.

Thanks
James

I forgot to post this here until now; after updating to MePo 1.3.0 Alpha, all of my issues with lip-sync drifting using HDMI are GONE. :D

Hmm, that's interesting as I've just bought a new TV and having major lip sync issues so would love to hear about your issues.

Before issues: MediaPortal 1.2.3. final with DVI->HDMI to TV + external Soundblaster soundcard's digital output, ReClock (encode to AC3) and bitstreaming AC3 and DTS to my trusty old receiver - everything working perfect.

Then I bought myself a brand new receiver with HDMI in/out and could get rid of my external Soundblaster card (newest driver was 2006) and use HDMI for video as well as bitstream everything including HD audio - lip sync issues all over the place.

Now: MediaPortal 1.3.0. Alpha with HDMI - FFDShow audio (SAF6) and LAV for all video codecs - working perfect.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't codec related, as I used the same codecs (SAF 6 with FFDShow audio + Default DirectSound) but I used ReClock too during my troubleshooting (ReClock worked fine during the Soundblaster days) as well but it didn't help.

Maybe it was the MediaInfo.dll used with MePo 1.2.3. reporting falsely to ARC because while the sync was out the window, the video playback was smooth. I hope this helps.

A/V sync issues cannot ever be related to wrong fps detected. All it could cause is stuttering playback.

    Hi,
what exactly is the "Dynamic Refresh Rate does not work for LiveTV Multi Seat + RTSP"?
Do I understand that the point is that the program does not detect the stream Live TV via RTSP, and then does not change defined for Live TV (TV or HDTV) refresh rate?
If so, then there is no problem when the default refresh rate is equal to this defined for Live TV and refresh changer works to other videos (eg. from VideoOnline). Is that it?

For example.. Live TV in Australia is at 50hz... But I watch lots of movies in 23.976hz. So after watching a movie, I watch TV... The refresh rate doesn't change automatically. I need to either :
    1. Set my monitor manually to 50hz or
    2. Use the /debugoptions command on the configuration.exe shortcut, allowing me to configure a UNC path instead of RTSP.

I use number 2 and also is well on my multiseat setup.

OK, I understand but I think in this case should also work the option "Use default refreshrate" set to 50Hz - "Selecting this will cause the refreshrate to go back to your default after playback of a media file".
    Is that it?

Correct also. This shouldn't be a problem since everybody should set the default refresh rate based on their TV. So PAL TV users should have a default refresh rate of 50Hz, where NTSC TV users should set the default refresh rate to 60Hz.

I really don't get it anymore.
I just came to the conclusion that my tv should also understand 25Hz, so I didn't have to upscale to 50 first. I figured I would let the TV do the upscaling.
It almost went right, but now HDTV@50Hz is also displayed as 25Hz.
It says Detd FPS:50, but display is @ 25. After stopping TV and go to main menu, default frame rate is back to 50Hz again.
    How come?
By the way, I'm watching on the multiseat setup server, so local.

    Edit:
I just read that TV streams are not analized for frame rates and therefor the refreshrate for "TV" is applied to every stream, SD or HD. Is this still true? If yes, too bad! Feature request!
My TV does a better job in upscallig 25Hz to 100Hz than Mediaportal/HTPC does!
