Is there any chance this could be extended to speaker settings too?

In XP my speakers are normally set to 2.0 so that DD/DTS are output as SPDIF bitstreams, TV and stereo vidoes are output as Dolby Surround 2.0 and music is output as plain stereo. When I play BD media (or one of the handful of files I have with multi-channel FLAC soundtracks) I have to set the speakers to 7.1 to get surround sound.

If when checking the refresh rate this could also check the audio streams and set the speakers accordingly that would be the icing on my HTPC cake :D

    ........
But basically I'd like to keep 720p resolutions for MP interface because my GFX card is not powerful enough to render the MP GUI @ 1080p50.

    Christ

I had a 3450 as well, and it was running fine @ 1080p.

Well I tried to keep 1080p all the time, switching between 1080p50 1080p24 and 1080p60 and it's still not working. While MP is fullscreen it won't switch to 24p. Did you play with vertical sync parameter in the driver ? Do you enable "reset device" feature ? What version of Catalyst do you use ?

    Thanks :D

I am rinning Windows XP (+sp3) using ATI CCC 9.4
In ATI CCC I set vertical sync to always (in 3d tab I think)
Mediaportal DirectShow Filter Control: renderer setting is: VMR9 + exclusive mode.
    Codecs: SAF Filter package
Could be a codec related thingy

    Hahaaaa I found it :)

I don't know when I touched that parameters but as soon I saw it I thought... shiiiiiit that's it !

So always make sure that you don't have the below option set to anything else than disabled...

There are so many options in theses drivers nowadays (and I always touch them randomly when I'm bored lol)

    Thanks for helping !

    Regards,

    Chris

    New Feature

    Hi.
Id like a feature implemented which would reset the monitor to lets say 60hz once I close MediaPortal. I feel like it is kind of unnaccessary to reset the display after every movie/episode like it is now (if one uses that feature).

Cheers, and thanks for the great work so far.

Hmm if you like to have your GUI running @ 24 FPS after playing a movie... it's up to you :)

Now I have tested your latest patch with the recently released 1.0.2.
Great job! Thanks for the extended settings (now I can use 24Hz for 24fps and 23.976Hz for 23.976fps so ReClock does not need to do such a big resampling).

Also going from Video to Music does engage the default refresh rate now. Great!

Everything works as expected. I think the automatic refresh rate feature of MediaPortal is almost complete.

One thing that might be a problem is TV with diffrent refresh rates. In Sweden we can use 50Hz for everything so far. But 24p is coming (Canal Digital) and I guess other areas of the world already use multiple frame rates for TV.

I don't know how to handle this "issue" though. As the framerate may change for commercial breaks etc....

A serious question: what source material has "clean" 24fps? I have never seen that, only 23,976. Also I dont believe that TVs support these two modes seperately.

Hi I re-installed MP 1.0.1 I always used refreshratechanger and I don't wanna miss it. Now I have some problmes. It doesn't change the refreshrate.
