Hi

Using MP 1.1.0 Alpha ( no svn ) on Win7 i can´t get my files to play smoothly with 23.967hz.

Even if i change the refreshrate manually in the NV control panel i get studder every 5 seconds. With MPC HC these movies play fine using the same codecs. Is this behavior solved with the latest SVN ?

thx

Hi, all.

Was wondering if anyone might be able to help with this little problem. The basic issue at hand exists in the link below, though I have a feeling it can be solved by changing the refresh rate from CINEMA to PAL. The thing is, I can't change it. There's just no option to do so on screen.

FPS-related stutter & minimizing issues - MediaPortal Forum

Is there any way I can force the PAL refresh rate through MP Config? My specs, etc. can be found in the above thread.

Cheers,
GWFan.

ATI HD3200 motherboard integrated graphics chipset here... Have all the different refreshrates I need in windows. I left the action field blank but NTSC or PAL DVD's won't work. HTPC releases HDMI sync leaving me with a black plasma screen and need to reboot. 24p x264 1080p mkv files works just fine and refreshrate changes to 24hz as it should. I've created profiles in ATI Catalyst how do I get mediaportal to load them? what line do I need to put in action field?

My profiles are saved in ATI Catalyst as

"24p" (1920x1080@24hz)
"25p" (1920x1080@25hz)
"30p" (1920x1080@30hz)

Would love this to work..

Well, probably too obvious. But what TV do you have? Is it capable of 25/30p?
If 25hz isnt working, why dont you use 50hz? And ofcourse 30p on 60hz settings.

Did you save the profiles using 25 and 30hz? Sometimes you need to have a profile available in ATI CCC in order to be able to change it inside MP.

I decided to setup MP on a friends computer.

Everything is working fine BUT Automatic Refresh Rate Changer is not working. Here is the situation:

    ATI 4670 Catalyst 9.4
LCD TV that is able to support 24, 30, 50, 60 Hz
    MP with latest SVN

Here is how it goes. Open MP -> Play a movie (23,970) -> refresh rate DOES change properly to 24Hz then if i navigate to another movie that has different fps all i get is black screen for a second then i am back to menu. I noticed the following. MP is always starting at 60hz which is ok since this is my default rate, but each and every time ARC has to switch refresh rate only once it does it twice, exp: start MP -> Play a movie (23,970) -> refresh rate DOES change properly to 24Hz then switch to another movie -> MP is changing refresh rate FIRST to 60hz and then tries to switch again to the appropriate rate of the second movie. This can be easily done even without switching between 2 movies, all i have to do is to simple STOP my current movie and then refresh rate is switched to 60hz although i have disabled the DEFAULT RATE under MP settings.

So any guess as to what is wrong? Why ARC is trying to switch between two rates by 1st using the default rate?

    P.S. No plugins at all.

    Hi Kotik,

What is your OS? And I think you are using MP1.1alpha + SVN right?
If you are running Vista/Win7. If so, you should use EVR for the best results.
For XP use VMR9 with exclusive mode enabled. These settings are found at : "DirectShow Filter Control"

What are the options which you have selected in the ARC settings? "Reset, Notify, Force" and what did you put in the default refreshrate section?

    regards,

    Hello, Edterbak

What is your OS? And I think you are using MP1.1alpha + SVN right?

OS is WIN XP SP3 and yes i am running MP 1.1 ALPHA with the latest SVN. Renderer is set to VMR9.

What are the options which you have selected in the ARC settings? "Reset, Notify, Force" and what did you put in the default refreshrate section?

    regards,

    Reset: NO
    Notify: NO
    Force: NO
Default: NOT CHECKED as i don't mind if refresh is set to latest used in MP GUI.

Was working on it the whole night, did a fresh OS installation, still NO go. But i really wonder why on earth is the refresh rate changing back to the default windows rate after i stop a video although i have deactivated the DEFAULT RATE option? And YES i already checked and double checked the ATI "full screen 3d applications" button and it is ALWAYS on "disabled"
    Could anyone provide some ideas??

Funny thing is that i have almost the same setup at my home and it works perfectly.........
