Mine seems to be fine with the latest SVN and the 195.55_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english drivers for my Windows 7 x64 build.
The refresh rate is switching great to 24hz, no longer 25hz, and as yet I have not noticed any stutter.
I reported this in the SNV build section and I will continue to monitor and report.

Where did you find version 195.55? I can't find that one.
These are the latest versions I can see at Nvidias homepage: 195.62, 195.39, 191.07, 191.03, 190.62, 190.38

Does it work with 195.62 for you? (the latest whql)

It doesn't for me.

So, you are confirming that it is working on x64.

But I am using the 32bit version.

Tried so far also 12noon with the same result.
The only workable solution so far with smooth playback is when 24p is set before MP is launched.

    Cheers,

I am confirming that for me the following are working...

    Windows x64 with...

Media Portal 1.02 and the 12noon display changer.

I removed the above entirely and installed the beta 1.1 and...

    Media Portal 1.1 SVN 24281

The above is working in the material that I have tried. I will continue with further testing. As yet it has switched to 24hz as it should and played material back with no perceivable judder.

Both of the noted above combinations would switch to 24hz and then back to the default (pal_hz) refresh rate as needed.

    Win XP home
ATI HD3200 (780g chipset on motherboard) with ATI Catalyst 9.5
    SAF 4.00 plugin

Auto refreshrate behaves wierd. It can work 100% for a few changes but all of a sudden it starts to change to the wrong refreshrate. When I first start mediaportal it works great... for example I play a PAL DVD .iso and it changes (as I've set) to 75 hz. Then I exit this movie and start a 24p .mkv and it changes to 24 hz. I stop this movie and start the PAL DVD .iso again... Now comes the mistake.. MP popup says 75hz but no change... still 24hz!

I've read somewhere that you can improve by putting a link to ATI profile in MP setup instead of plain hz numbers (like 24, 75 and 60 for each source type) ??? I've set up different profiles in Catalyst 9.5 but I don't know how to link to them...

    Hi
    - Have you enabled "force refreshrate"?
    - You say you use MP 1.1beta. But is this with the latest SVN? If not, I suggest you use latest SVN.
    - Are you seeing this behaviour in movingpictures or are you making use of MyVideos? If its in moving pictures, try it in myvideos to rule out plugin error.

I'm also getting stuttering issues as reported in latest SVN thread.

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...9-21-44h-revision-24281-rar-74081/#post542274

I can confirm this. I'm seeing the same behavior. win7 x64, nvidia 195.62 and 190.62

As you said, if you start in 24p, it plays fine.

Also, if I connect to my HTPC with VNC(realvnc), then disconnect (even before playing video at 24p), then play the video, all is fine for the next video played. It will switch to 24p without issue, and play smoothly. I can't quite explain this, except it probably has something to do with the popup it displays and/or something to do with window focus? The same behavior happens while a video is playing. If it is choppy and I connect with VNC, it will play smoothly that time, and from then on until restarting MP.

I have attached a log with it stuttering on playback, then playing smooth after a VNC connect/disconnect.

Note: there are no refresh rate changes during VNC activities.

You can see in evr.log that it is dropping frames until I connected, where it mysteriously stops dropping frames until I close MediaPortal.

UPDATE: looks like changing this from EVR to VMR9 fixed the problem. Which renderrer is better? What advantages does one offer over the other?

ok, so I see why VMR9 isn't used.

Though it doesn't suffer from the stuttering playback after dynamic refresh rate changes, it has playback and crashing problems.

Log attached of VMR9 crashing on something EVR has no problem playing.

I posted earlier in this thread that I couldn't get refresh change to work with the latest Nvidia drivers. I was wrong.

I use Mediaportal on my regular pc, no htpc. Therefore I use mediaportal on Screen #2 (my Tv) in windows.
Earlier I have discovered that video acceleration works bad when running MP on secondary monitor.
Because of that, I use to switch secondary monitor to become primary before I start MP.

It seems that refreshchange doesn't work when screen #2 is primary monitor and using MP on that screen. It works fine when screen #1 is primary
and using MP on either screen #2 or screen #1.

Also, the problem with running MP on secondary monitor seems to have disapeared to.

However, tonight I will try to switch the cables from my Tv and computer monitor, so that the Tv becomes screen #1 and see if I can use the Tv as primary and still get refreshchange to work.

    - Yes force refreshrate is enabled.
    - I just upgraded to the latest build and it got even worse.
    - Tried both momovies and movingpictures
