@ mascot,
Well, I am using .mkv's with 24p and NTSC from DVD and it works fine.
Only sometimes when stopping one 24p movie and starting another right away it does not change. However, then when stopping and restarting the movie it works fine.

I assume it has something to do with MP 1.1. I already tried MP 1.1 and had several issues that made change back to MP 1.0.2. As I have no problem with stability and recording, dynamic refresh rate change etc. work fine I don't see an advantage (for me) to use MP 1.1 until a final release is out.

sometimes also the movie files are encoded in a weird way, so don't expect that it will work for all types. (well, for those I have it does at least).

Maybe a last statement: If it really bothers you a lot that refresh rate changer does not work - change to MP 1.0.2 if this is an option.

I got it working now.

I use 1.1 beta because I want DXVA with subtitles. If someone could tell me how to inplement the mpc-hc subtitle generator into 1.0.2. I would be happy to go back to stable 1.0.2.

If you are running 1.02 and want the mpc-hc subtitle thing.. you should read this thread. https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...48/integration-mpc-hc-subtitles-engine-54130/

Read it very well first, because there are restrictions to what SVN version you are still able to use with this patch.
Good luck with it if you go down this road.

Just to have it said:
I can not recommend you go back to earlier versions of MP, earlier than 1.1b at least. You will be going down the ladder of evolution of the program.
Also, in one of the MP 1.1b SVN versions a bug was killed which caused Haali media splitter to stay present in the task bar. Result is that after 4-8 times starting a movie, mediaportal or the player would crash. .. .. You will run in to that issue if you go back.

Still the issue remains in your system. I dont know what it is. With everything you have tried, it just should work.
Perhaps you could post a log.. (second time I ask for this) You could open a new thread (in this forum part) just for your problem, with all the information in there including the bug report. Also, filling in your system specs would help with finding the cause. (cant hurt)
This is what I would do and try atleast.

With the 186.18 driver Refreshrate Changer works for me ( GF9400 ), only notify and default refresh ( PAL ) is checked. I use the latest SVN with Win7 32 Ultimate.

What i do is set the 23.976hz manually in the custom resolution part, with any other drivers above 186.18 it was not possible to define manually and causes the hz to switch back etc.

I found a cyberlink combo codec ( same codec works with mpeg2 & h.264 ) in the latest clvd pack and this nice codec just replaced SAF on my system, quite satisfied with it :)

I posted this behaviour (refreshrate does not change from DVD media) several times in the past but no one responded. The refresh rate is only changed from files that are stored on writable media it seems (HDD, network share).

this is a movie on harddisk but it is a iso file.

it also happens to actual discs, it does not seem to happen to dvd's in loose files (ifo, vob)

Just started using this great feature. Some extra things I have worked out:

    - If you have an ATI GPU you need to enable 23.98Hz and 59.98Hz refresh rates. This is unavailable by default but if you go to "Configure" in CCC and then under "HDTV support" select 1080p24 and 1080p60. Now under the refresh rate setting you can select 23Hz and 59Hz. This is important as the 24Hz (and to a lesser degree 60Hz) results in a stuttering mess on my HTPC. I presume that a 23.98Hz media file is difficult to interpolate when you only have 24fps to fiddle with.

    - I was already using RivaTuner to adjust my GPU clock frequencies / voltage and fan speeds for optimal power saving performance. I now use "Automatic Refresh Rate Changer" to tell RivaTuner to adjust the refresh rate too. This is another viable alternative to PowerStrip and is also free.

I noticed that there was some moves to allow more than the default number of profiles...is this enabled in the latest stable release 1.0.2?

Thank you for this excellent feature. :D

I use ATI GPU and use 24Hz (BluRay), 30Hz (NTSC) and 50Hz (PAL) setup in CCC in combination with 24p-TV.

I have no stuttering - maybe once in a while in BluRay - let's say maybe every 15 min (?) or less - almost not recognizable.
