    Hey all

I finally decided to install MP1.2b and backdrop onto a "live" setup - luckily I chose a client... when I edit the BasicHome menu I get the following error message when I try to get rid or OnlineVideos (which I don't run):

'Failed to locate assembly 'Onlinevideos, Version=0.28.0.0, Culture=neutral, publicKeytoken=null' Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

... and then MP Config crashes

I get the same sort of error message when I try to remove "movies" (MovingPictures) & TVSeries which I don't run on this client :(

Originally I upgraded my MP install (from 1.2) but even after doing a clean install I'm getting the same problem :(

Running W7 on this system. Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks

    B

    AW: Backdrop - Skin (RELEASED!!!)

    Hi.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Not really...
Try do delete the Basic Home settings xml (and all backups) so start from scratch generating the Basic Home Menus. If those errors still appears there must be something really wired going on there. I've often generate new Basic Home Menus with Editor, never encountered any problems...

Thanks for the reply - I gave deleting the BasicHome menu a go but when I open the backdrop menu editor it still loads the menu with "online videos' etc still showing (where from?? )

So then I copied the Basichome.xml file from my test setup (running Vista with no problems like this...) - but when I open the backdrop menu editor the mystery BasicHome settings show (with onlineVideos showing  ) and not the one I have replaced it with

When I run MP the BasicHome file I have copied from my Vista setup shows but there are still issues such as I can't set the time to fade out on the home screen etc so I would like to get this sorted.

btw my W7 is up to date...

    AW: Backdrop - Skin (RELEASED!!!)

    Hi.
Replacing the basichome.xml in Program Data\Team Mediaportal\MediaPortal\Skins\Backdrop did not do the job as the config is stored in Program Data\Team Mediaportal\MediaPortal\ and is named BackdropMenuEdditor.xml. The Menu Editor reads this xml, not your actual basichome.xml.

There are a lot of backups depends on how often you create a new menu. The backups has a date appended at filename. Delete all of those and try to generate a new BasicHome...

:D that sorted it :D Still don't understand why I had this problem (especially with a clean install) but backdrop is looking good now (mostly*) so I think I'll give it a go on my HTPC soon....

*I said "mostly' because there are a couple of issues but the main one is to do with the InfoService "feeds' screen -I'll post more on this if i can't sort it.

Hopefully cul8er is having a nice summer holiday because it's winter here in New Zealand and it was pretty cold in Auckland today - about 16deg C and sunny - not too bad for mid-winter though I guess :D

Last night I was looking at some of my new movies trying to figure out what I could watch with my daughter but noticed there is no indicators of MPAA rating. Is this a configuration somewhere or just coded in the skin. I know you can filter by rating, just would rather be able to see it on the fly.

I guess cul8r is still on holiday so has anyone got any idea how I can override the timeout on specific screens? For example I don't want the list view to loose focus in MyVideos because I don't need (or want) the details info to appear. I can stop that stuff appearing but the menu still looses focus after the set time which means that if I pause the menu looses focus then when I scroll down after the time limit the menu slides back in again - I want it to remain "highlighted" - old skool style :)

    Cheers
