Re : BackupSettings for Tv Server and Media Portal

It is possible to reinstall only database ?
When you say "import of the data", here you mean with your plugin ?

    tx

    Out of subjet :
About repair of database here is what i've done and what solved the problem (but erased some datas, i guess i should then have done an import with your plugin
    goto C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\bin
    mysqlcheck --user=root --pass=MediaPortal --auto-repair MPTVDB

Re : BackupSettings for Tv Server and Media Portal

hi huha, today you saved my MP !
I installed the update 1.1.1 and there were an error : tvserver not installed. Then i installed it, restore and then error on your plugin when writing chanel. then i remember you told me to uninstall all this is better for you plugin : i uninstalled totally MP, installed a fresh version of MP 1.1.1, restore with backupsettings, and all perfect !!! plugins, skin, codec, all was ok, this is wonderful !
The only thing i had to do is configuring epg as, in france, we use a modified version of original xmltvimport.dll.

    Really really thanks :)

    Hello

I've installed and run MP. I've filled the video database with imdb and also with a lot of manual input . Now MP is to move to another machine, but I would of course move also the video database content.

    In my example:
    The videos are on a usb drive F: \ Multimedia \ Video \ ...
The video database is in C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Application Data \ Team MediaPortal \ MediaPortal \ database \ ...
MP is installed in D: \ Program Files \ Team MediaPortal

The new system will use different drive letters and also different directories.

    My question:
What should I do to be able to use the video database on the other computer again?
Is there a xml file where I can specify all that?
Is BackupSettings able to support my case?

    Thanks for supporting me.

    Hi gago234,
unfortunately no good news for you. Backupsettings is using only for Tv server an xml file. The backup/restore of all MediaPortal databases is just done by copying the complete files from the directory. So if you change the content on a new computer it will not work. Maybe someone else with more database experience can help you if there is a simple way to export/import a .xml filke from the movie data base.

Update: Just found this - it may help you

AW: BackupSettings for Tv Server and Media Portal

Thor, please post the detailed path of the last copy message in the BackupSettings installer window e.g.
    BackupSettings.pdf copied to C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\BackupSettings\BackupSettings.pdf.
Do you see a TV server plugin in C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\plugins\BackupSettingsTV.dll?

I'd like to proceed where Thor has stopped as I have the same problem. The plugin does not appear in TV Server configuration. There is no Dll or pdf in the TV server folder. It seems that whenever I install the plugin with the MP Extension installer it creates a new folder with time and date of installation (C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server_BACKUP_10-19_17-42) I have 4 of them now.
This all happened after a reinstallation of MP 1.1.1.
    What shall I do?

    Issue with Online Videos

I just found a problem with one of the newer versions of Onlinevideos when doing a Backupsettings import, as the .dll name got recently changed. I discovered it in version 0.25, but could have happened in one of the earlier versions already.
When you install online videos you should see a file OnlineVideos.MediaPortal1.dll in ..\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows
If you do now an import with backupsettings it may copy an older version of Onlinevideos into your plugin directory with the name OnlineVideos.MediaPortal.dll
This will cause malfunction of the online video plugin and it will complain later about not having the latest version installed and not showing any videos.

A manual fix is easy: just delete the old .dll file OnlineVideos.MediaPortal.dll in ..\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows

Easywatcher, the folder you mention is not created by backupsettings. i suspect you accidently intstalled Backupsettings for the client version in the mediaPortal plugin directory and not for the TV server. Check that during installation all 4 paths are valid in the Installer window.

    Small update to that:
The old name was OnlineVideos.dll and this dll is now one folder down in: plugins\Windows\OnlineVideos. The new name is OnlineVideos.MediaPortal1.dll. (The plugin was split into two dlls.)

    To be precise:
Delete only the old .dll file OnlineVideos.dll in ..\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows.

AW: BackupSettings for Tv Server and Media Portal

nice plugin but i have a problem with it:
i used not the standardpath of mediaportal. in the installation of the plugin, i used the correct path. the installation was suecesfull.
then i startet tvserver-setup, and selectet the plugin. a prompt came asking for the folder of tvserver. i selectet it.
then i tried to export mediaportal and tvsever settings. tversettings-export worked, but if it should export mediaportal-settings, a prompt came up, asking me for the path of mediaportal. if i click ok, for selecting the path, the plugins breaks up and gives me a error-message that it was not finding the mediaportal-folder. so i can t select it. no way.
    hope you can help.

    greetings
