New project in the making - does anyone have an idea Re: bandwidth for streaming tv (dvb-t) from server to client??

Noone?? I can't persuade soneone with a working solution to measure the bandwidth they use while streaming SD & HD content??? Plz???

Well I think they can vary during broadcast depending on what is going on with other channels on the same transponder. But some SD video recorded from Freeview DVB-T in the UK seems to be about 4.176 mbps

Cant find any HD at moment and I think DVB-S is higher as well.

I guess MediaPortal adds a few bytes to this as well for wrapping the DVB, control and EPG data etc.

    Thx for replying... I've got my Server -> client running smoothly now, with no problem with bandwidth (originally considered streaming over homeplug network - was worried about bandwidth - but decided to run regular ethernet instead...)

    Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well.
